This is so weird.
For a second I got this weird impression that you're hanging out on a forum because you have nothing to do. The sheer unnaturalness of that made me shiver.

Me and Lexxy are already 16% enemies, I bet you guys wish you were on here with us to see how the drama unfolds as we become more bitter and hostile.

Bacon you have always ruined good things.
This the opposite behavior of what I would expect from bacon!

Guys I actually have time to work on my Maya-soon-to-be-ZBrush model again tonight! ZOUNDS! I am behind in class by a lot but I am catching up at lightning speed! Also because I'm not worrying all that much about edge flow or UV's or any of that, because teeeeeechnically I don't have to do any of that for this project. Muaheheheheh!
[edit] OLOLOL I got a B+ on the character head I had to complete from a super-rough low poly bust.....that I completed in three hours before class AHAHA!!
I will rock this stuff over break. Woo! Also I will actually learn ZBrush. I find it kind of hilarious that I've been able to complete projects and get good grades on them without having learned really *anything* about this program...but I guess if you know how to use the sculpting tools and color the model, that's already 95% of completing a model, anyway.

You can always retopo the model after you've decked it all out.
Provided you can figure out how that whole process works, which the last time I tried it I couldn't, even by following the tutorial on it step-by-step. Something about taking your model, saving out some kinda displacement map, retopoing at the lowest detail level, reprojecting the detail onto it, something something it all seemed very convoluted and it seems like if Pixologic ever bothered to hire an interface engineer it wouldn't have to be. Why isn't it just CLICK for retopo mode and CLICK to exit retopo mode?!
Maybe they've improved it since I last used it, but if they have I'm sure they've put the button to do it in a place I'll never be able to find without a 16 page walkthrough. :x
It's probably not that hard once you've done it right once but I'm too impatient to figure it out atm and I don't like feeling dumb.
Yeah we briefly discussed how it might be a good idea to retopologize our models, in some cases in class...and we briefly discussed the workflow for that...but we never really went into it beyond that - I think it was kinda outside the scope of the class.
I don't have enough time to spend sculpting or texturing the model to the degree I'd want to anyway, though...so if anything, I'd just redo the entire thing from scratch....well, parts of the model, at least. I've got a really nice leg and foot goin' on...but the torso edgeflow is what's screwiest.
Work-related anecdote: In January we were using dead female dragonflies to try and lure male ones into video-ing range, so the entire office was festooned with dragonfly corpses on fishing lines. It was like hanging out in a baby crib with some really perverted mobiles. Couldn't walk around without hitting your head on the things.

Sometimes I think my dream job would be working where you do, and then sometimes I think it'd also be my nightmare job.

meh.
I just had to look up close-ups of cockroaches for work
yuckyuckyuck.
Strangely, I thought you'd be used to that kind of thing.
I think it's because they kind of glisten.
Peculiar.
I was under the impression that glistening is a trait preferred by females, among others such as sparkling, shining and being pink.
edit: yes metal, you have nailed my reactions exactly. Afterwards I go and paint my nails.
I was talking about Mayday

It was interesting sitting in a pitch black room playing my guitar and wishing my ipod wasn't dead.
Now I must cuddle mine

Ohmygod!
I studied insects for years how did I never realize they could be this kawaii
sugoi!
Just found this sweet book of Ansel Adams COLOR photography. Who knew he did color? (And it doesn't disappoint.)
Many studies to come!
Congratulations guys; you're officially known as the most brutal sub-forum on the website. Most people are scared shitless of the AC!
Also all of these people never heard of Flame Week, so they were basing their judgment on current status, which surprised the hell out of me.

What the hell? SE++ scares the shit out of me!
EDIT: Flame week... I think I was here by then, but remind me, when did it happen?
