Last night I picked up 15 ex-rental videos for $10. Usually I'd pay a couple of bucks just to rent one of these C-Grade classics but now they're mine, mine! Talk about the best ex-rental bargains you've found, best cult rentals and the glorious days of slightly puffy video boxes and trashy trailers for movies you're sure were never released.

Once, I rented a ton of terrible movies from some local mom and pop convenience store.

By the time they were due, the place had closed down. I kept all those films for years. They were horrible.

Oh man I got a good Ex-Rental story. This mon and pop video place was selling VHS tapes and I see one for $2 that caught my eye. It was called Blondes brunettes and redheads. So i excitedly pick it up thinking I am getting a 2 dollar lesbian porno tape.

    Its a fucking hunting video.

I have never watched any of them

I can't wait, they look terrible

(With the exception of Harry and the Hendersons, which was kind of the leverage that made my girlfriend allow this miraculous purchase)

It's actually an out of print Criterion Collection DVD by David Cronenberg. It's creepy as all fucking git out, only watch it when you feel like getting your creep on.

Yeah figured a Cronenberg flick would be a safe enough purchase. You have to hedge your bets a bit when you're picking up titles like Doctor Mordrid.

I don't remember much of the movie

i seem to recall it being like beethoven, except instead of the dad trying to get rid of the dog, he was trying to get rid of bigfoot

oh my god, I used to get ex-rental tapes from the pawn shop next to my old work all the fucking time

one of those deals where you had to buy ten to get them for two bucks each, otherwise they were $3.50

but you could only find like six or seven even decent movies, so you ended up getting some serious crap to make it worth it.

Like, oh god what do I have. Let me see.

Deer Hunder. Aliens. The Punisher. The Heist. Sling Blade. Army of Darkness. Okay, not bad movies.

But to get them, I also had to get Too Young To Die (with Spanish subtitles). The Mack. The Big Hit. Romeo is Bleeding. Critters 4. Car 54 Where Are You? Harrison Bergeron. Kiss of the SPider Woman. Sizzle Beach USA.

You know what Sizzle Beach USA is? I'll bet you don't. It's a Troma movie, which you would think would mean it was cool. But it's not one of those Troma movies, it's one of those Troma titty flicks, and the only redeeming factor at all, if it could be considered a redeeming factor, is that it was Kevin Costner's first movie. He's in it for about two minutes, and he's on the cover because he's the only dude anyone would recognize.
