Post your workspace or DIE

All posts not containing photos of desks or incredible observations of other's desks will be scoffed

This is my desk and I guess my piano too

Tam, I have been busy and I have missed picking on you!

Also, is that wacom tablet on the little roll out slab the keyboard normally goes on? That's a pretty boss set up because of that.

Technically I'm homeless, so all you get is a picture of where I'm currently working.

my work area is a disaster

here's the full thing with my pc on the left, which is what i use for games... when i have time for games (never):
    Photo9.jpg

and here's the tiny little space where i put my laptop when i work:
    Photo10.jpg

you can barely see the space amongst the garbage

note the bottle of ibuprofen which is always at hand for dealing with asshole client-induced headaches

    Here we go:

    NewPlace-2.jpg

Cameras up top: Hasselbad 500CM, Yashica Lynx 5000e, Pentax 67, Agfa Isolette I and a Holga above.

I've got my shotgun in its case on the bottom right.

That's a flatbed film scanner above my laptop and there are a pair of external hard drives just kind of floating in the shelves.

A bunch of exposed film sitting to my right between the laptop and the typewriter.

This one is for perspective. I live in a tiny cabin in Homer, AK.

    Hahah! Tam got an infraction!

    deskut.jpg

I already posted this on a previous thread, but... I'm sure everyone is curious as to what my life is like... and when I say everyone I mean no one.

That cutting mat is huge, I love it to death. That's where I make all my boxes.

That doesn't reinforce any of my negative stereotypes of life in Puerto Rico!

    wkspace1.jpg
here's my computer desk. I do most of drawing here, and there's a pile of linoleum shavings next to the keyboard from the linocut I'm working on.

    wkspace2.jpg
here's my work table, that's a piece of MDF board with a cork backing on top. Behind it is a large sheet of chipboard I put on it when I'm cutting.

    wkspace3.jpg
My printers, a Canon MP830 all-in-one and a Canon i9900 large format which I absolutely love.

    wkspace4.jpg
here's my work area in my bedroom. the clothesline is up to hang prints as they dry, but I've been printing in the studio at the university lately so there's nothing up there. Unfortunately my bedroom has the enticing smell of oil paint, mineral spirits, and printmaking ink to it because of it.

That was an oven I had to build for a presentation at work. I made it out of cardboard and covered it with 12 x 18 paper. I never actually got to take pictures of the finished oven... but I'll post some of it in its near final stages later. My desk is never that messy, it was just that one time because I had a lot of people comming over and dropping things off. Usually, it's very organized... I can't work in messes.

This was my workspace at my last office job when I was an intern.

    IMG_0270.jpg

My current workspace is split it half, I have my drawing desk and laptop in my room, and my desktop and normal desk in the living area, I don't have any pictures of it at the moment though.

edit: Long that cabin is pretty awesome, has a bit of that rustic modern look to it. Apart from the bare particle board and the floor spaces you had to caulk it looks pretty sweet.

Time to be bowled over by my crappy bachelor pad!

Drawing board and pile newsprint drawings from the past year. Conveniently placed right next to the door for when I go to class, and to trip anyone who tries walking into my apartment for the first time.
    apt001.jpg

Computer table. Wireless internet and peripherals are for pussies.
    apt002.jpg
    apt003.jpg
    apt004.jpg

Drawing horse with my slick cobbled together lamp (reflector shop light from Home Depot combined with a microphone stand), gouache palette, TV and my oil stuff in the corner there.
    apt005.jpg

As you can probably guess from the way the top shelves are bowing in the center, I could use some bigger bookshelves.
    apt006.jpg

Drawing desk. Rarely used because it's too far away from my tv or computer- the precise qualities that would make it a good place to draw if I could bring myself to sit down in front of it more often.
    apt007.jpg

I've got a lot of 9x12 masonite panels to burn through at some point.

I do like the keyboard it sent me, because my last two modern keyboards broke because they were flimsy pieces of shit. This thing is a heavy, loud-typing monster that could survive a nuclear blast and could then still be used to beat down the resulting mutant hordes with.

    Behold, the legendary Model M.

Yessir. Well, it's one of the Unicomp ones and not an original IBM, but it's the same thing apart from the different logo and the addition of Windows keys.

See MT? This thing is a classic, known by people that know good things when they see them. Just ask Bombsy, I'm pretty sure he's got one as well.
