Moving Pictures [New Movie!]

I've mostly been into photography but lately I've been branching into animation. This is the first of a few stop motion projects I'm working on.

I'm looking for C&C here though I know there's not a lot of film dudes around.

    nice stop motion. What sort of setup have you used?

    I've done a fair bit of stop motion on whiteboards and claymation for film festivals and personal projects.

    I used my computer and a video camera hooked up using the program Istopmotion which basically allows you to use a trace over tool / overlays as well as a button to capture and you can set up timed capture and stuff.

    The rose coming up out of the ground looks really good.

    Ive mentioned to someone else on here that I will post some of my film work when i get the chance.

    Ive done allot of experimental film/rotoscoping and such.

    Right now I just have a DSLR on a tripod. I just throw the images in sequence in Premiere. I really need to get an onion skin or whatever, I'll look into Istopmotion.

    Man, that's pretty good. I did a few stop motions a few years back, but they were like 30 second shorts. Yours are much better. Admittedly I am probably not the best to critique it, but for what it's worth, strong work.

    I really like this, your sets and charachters are charming as hell.....a DSLR on a tripod and premiere you say? I might look into giving this a go sometime.

    love the last one. Good creative use of newspaper. I like your animation and its simple. No legs moving and stuff but you got away with it well. One thing you need to improve on is the camera tracking/panning. Sometimes you are able to get away with a filmed camera pan rather than an animated one. Like the start you could of just moved the camera and used film rather than used the stop motion technique.

    Its really hard to get your camera riged up well for it to be able to move. Back when I was filming my stop motions in the set I made I glued 4 matchbox cars under a plank that I used to mount my camera on so I could wheel it in one direction lol... onion skinning really helps with that to.

    Good work. Love the concept and story to.

    I had about 12 hours to shoot before the deadline, so crafting awesome dollies was out of the question. I completely blanked on the onionskin. Next time for sure.

    Also I couldn't do any film shots because I use a DLSR and a tripod. I know there's ways to do pans digitally and I should probably look into them. Again this thing was conceived, crafted, and shot in an incredibly small amount of time. We turned it in with 20 minutes to spare.

    Another video is complete! This one for the Assassin's Creed IFC Contest. We didn't win but judging by the runner ups we were hopefully close. Any critique welcome. Kinda our first venture into using any CGI and green screen.

    i think the videography is good, it's probably the acting that sold it short :(
    so your part= good, get better actors!

    your newspaper short is absolutely fantastic too
