Where are you at?: Vancouver BC How many days are you going for?: All Do you have a ride?: Yup, Quiz! Do you have a room?: Doubletree. Boo-yah. Other necessary info: Heading down with Zoxx and Quizmaster.
I finally secured the money to go (damned visa is paid off!). Now I just need to figure out how to get my 25lb PC from Nanaimo to Seattle without it getting raped in the bum.
Do it before you go and don't use your bank (or for the love of god your credit card)
best thing to do is get your money changed at a place like custom house currency excange.. (i know this cuz i used to work for them) but they have the best rates compared to both banks and other currency exchange places

If my bank charges a fee for American currency, its so god damned negligible that I have no idea what it is.
Targically my group will not be making it to PAX this year. My pos car decided last week that it would be funny if it went belly up. Over half of my trip money later the beast is running, killing my dreams of PAX with it's costly rebirth. Have fun kids. Take many pictures.

Felt dark planet turn under my feet and knew what cats know that makes them scream like babies in night.
I've got two spots free in my truck from the Vancouver area. I'm leaving Friday morning at about 9AM and leaving Seattle soon after PAX ends, Sunday evening. Anyone who still needs a ride should get in touch with me ASAP.
emergency emergency! MY whole victoria clipper bus ride plans are toast, both friends bailed. I need a ride to PAX desperately and the forums being down for 2 days didn't help heh. I can travel to vancouver quite easily though I am not sure what ferry is the earliest on friday or if I shall have to stay over thursday night and sleep in a ditch until friday morning and hitch a ride with one of the crews leaving from van.
So is anyone going from Vancouver to PAX that has a spare trunk or glove compartment? I can of course pay for gas and a myriad of snacks etc..
edit: man I should totally read the post directly above mine before I go and write a whole thinger.
I won't be coming this year due to a sudden family issue
Hopefully I'll have better luck next year. Cheers and I hope everyone here enjoys themselves (GET PHOTAGE AND AUDIO )
So after all the brew-ha-ha how many Canucks are actually gonna be there?
Myself and two friends will be coming from Kelowna again this year, but are staying at the Doubletree this time.
I hope the Team Canada room is gonna be open again this year!
We're leaving Lethbridge by 7:00 AM, and have NO IDEA when we'll get in. I'm thinking 5-7ish, but we get an hour back for the time change.
7:00 at the Doubletree Lobby sounds fantastic. Someone look conspicuously Canadian so we can zero in on you. If we're in town by then, we'll be there.
And someone had damn well better tell me if/where a Team Canada room exists/is. We're over in the Red Lion. I'm worried nothing exciting will happen in our hotel.
I just remembered I'm going to have to drink american beer the whole time :x
I think I'll staple (because sewing is for sissies) little canadian flags to one arm of my shirts so I can be identified by other canadians and we can talk about hockey and beer.
Canuckle dinner was a roaring success. Smalllady seemed to be the hub around which it all revolved so much thanks to her, and, well, to everyone else too.

Please don't drive yourself home.
Any of you want to take me back to the hotel/other places at the end of the day? I don't have a car :P
Party.
They cast a shadow like a sundial in the morning light. It was half past 10.
Awesome, now just let me pass out in your room so I actually get up on time each day.
edited: found room. Thanks to neonspyder!

and i'll be wearing a shirt that says "SmallLady" on it.
I'm thinking of bringing Canadian beer down there, maybe Sleemans.
Anybody know the customs/border law for bringing beer?
yeah, make it easy on yourself, keep it in the trunk and dont tell them
Don't telling them means you don't get to go if they find out.
You are allowed beer for personal consumption. Keep volumes reasonable.

1 case of beer or 1 bottle of liquor per person.
so if you got 5 ppl in your car... that means 5 cases of beer....
oooh yeeea
one case of beer is reasonable? Not unless i'm only staying in the states for an afternoon.

EVERYONE TO THE BALLROOM - STAT!
