The perspective is also a sort of mid-height view, and the framing is neatly cut along the middle of the canvas by the horizon. The left side of the closest ground "block" has an edge running parallel with the side of the canvas which is just sort of a faux-pas and makes the scene look constrained.
But, drawing out of your head is really difficult and mistakes are easy to spot, but hard to fix (unless you're super expierineced with figure drawing). Get out your camera, and shoot a reference. Ive only just started doing that and i really wish i had done it earlier for some of my university assigments. Iif you cant get someone to pose, grab a batman figurine or something and photograph that. Set up a few cardboard boxes/ lego pieces. Its just to get the basic angles and perspectives down. It wont help the stiffness of the characters, but it will help establishing the composition and angles etc.

tam, i really like where that's going, but i find his left hand and the top of the scythe sort of hard to read
i had to stare at it for a few minutes to figure out what was going on
i think if you add a bit more detail to both hands, show the fingers, really get in there, it's going to look incredible
Some of those are created, but most of them are copied from a book of Mayan symbols. I haven't decided what Im going to do with them yet, but I carved one into a wood block and its kinda neat.

I am super fucking digging these, Iruka. I've done a few Mayan related art projects during my time and AIB, and I had a lot of fun with the colors, and intricate patterns. I hope there's more to come!

Crits? Hm...Maybe try to fill that empty sky a bit? Make it look a little more busy. Its a little vague, and uninteresting as is. And/or try extending the area below the cliffs a bit? Not much, just a little. The negative space on top comes off as just a little overwhelming I think. I guess you could even try cutting some off the top, and narrowing the image.
There isn't anything that really comes off as WRONG though.
Ok, the idea is the kids are flying a kite with a picture of a bear on it, and the bear starts jumping off the page flying, and the force of that starts dragging the one kid off the ground so the other kid needs to try and prevent him from flying away by grabbing his ankles?
Right now this idea seems to be a little confused on first read. The kite and the transition between kite-art and actual bear is a bit vague, and it looks on first read like a bear just jumping into the air from the ground with a Dragonball Z glow around him- the wrinkles of the cloth end up looking like action lines. A sharper color change between the two, or a more obvious definition of light in the are might make the idea more clear. Also making the kite outline more sharply defined and less wobbly could help it read better.
Also, the kite string being looping around instead of being taut doesn't connect with the kid being pulled off the ground very well, and makes it look like the one kids is just trying to discus toss the other kid at first glance. You could probably fix this just by horizontally flipping the kids, and making the kite-string a straight line.
idk, if the string/kite would give a shadow, but for some reason i think there should be b/c there is one for the kids. Then again i could just be crazy.
