If I ever have enough gold coins to fill a vault you can bet that I will be leaping into that sumabitch at least once and doing my damnedest to swim through the loot.

Or store it all in burlap bags with a big $ sign on them.

It just seems like a bad idea.

And Passer, I'm going to have buy most of the staple foods. One of the girls I hang out with called and told me that the group wants to go camping in January and could I please take them. Arugh.

Ehn. At least you'll be getting out for some fresh air. I'm sure moving around will help keep the lymph nodes going as well.

Thomas - You should cook for yourself anyway. There are plenty of one-pot dishes that are easy to make and easy to clean up after.

I know many one pot dishes. My unwillingness to cook has nothing to do with the ability to cook. I spent most of my teen years cooking dinner for my siblings and I spent many of my adult years cooking for my ex-wife. Houston just happens to have a lot of really good restaurants. :P

I guess I just like cooking myself more than going out to eat, though both are fun. That, and cooking at home is cheaper, but that might not be as much of a problem for you.

Also, I did not know you were divorced. I thought you were gay?

Nope, I'm Bi so only half fabulous. And for me the joy of cooking comes in the sharing of it then the actual act of cooking.

    Fewer.

And it's just a neurotic thing really. Oddly, my girlfriend has become an exception. I now don't find it stressful to try out brand new food on her. Maybe I'm secretly trying to murder her.

Not that I've ever made anything dangerous. I just occasionally make stuff that doesn't taste as fabulous as the Gods would like.

Oh, I'm the same. When I don't have anyone to cook for I'll photograph my experiments and share the recipes with friends, or post them on my D'art account or in the recipe thread.

People in this thread worry about the oddest things. You'll screw up the odd dish now and then. There aren't any Fox television producers around with Gordon Ramsey so it's not like it's that big a deal.

Delia's 'How to Cook' has been the basis for many a graduate's sudden ability to cook. She starts at stupidly simple (how to boil an egg) but really does go through every single aspect of cooking.
