I just dug my drafting table out of the workshop in order to set up a little better (inspired in part by this thread, actually).

Set up in my very 70s basement living room (and with Dark Side of the Moon playing for added verisimilitude).

    Looking the other way:

my camera is on its last legs.

This would be my workspace if I owned a chair:

Since I don't, this is basically where I do everything:

... I just realised what I should do this weekend.

I knew my workspace was messy (which I don't like) but it looks downright disgusting when a photo is taken of it.

How's that fancy intous 4 working for ya? I'm thinking about upgrading from my intous 3.

I haven't used an Intuos3, so I can't directly compare. But the light-up shortcut buttons are great. I use them all the time. The size is a plus too.

the slick intuos and fatty monitor contradict each other.

I think I'm going to get the same dual-monitor set up as WCK; a 20" HD and my something-inch LCD. It will make editing so much easier to deal with...it will also make watching movies while doing other things much easier to deal with.

    image545.jpg
    image548.jpg

I didn't realize how childish my desk space is until comparing it to everyone else's...all this stuff is related to friends or something from my childhood though, I'm not really into toys.
    image546i.jpg
    image547.jpg

I think the Nietzsche finger-puppet balances out my stuffed animals versus my stack of philosophy books.

also, not shown: the piles of papers and notebooks strewn across my floor. a concentrated mess is really the best way to have access to things when you don't have a ton of space.

Godfather, there is entirely too much art scattered around your living space for you to not post anything here! I'm interested to see your improvements since school!

Godfather. Do you really have all of that crap sprawled out all over your apt all of the time?

I know that I personally would rather SIT in a chair than have my drawings all over it, haha.

From last year when I lived in a room the size of a closet in Queens.
    desk.jpg

If you're asking what kind of art could get done in such a space, it was prop modeling and level design. If that's even art.

For the past couple of weeks, yeah. I have to leaf through a lot of newsprint to sort out the good pieces from the cruddy ones.

The animation paper ones are easy enough to clean up, so I don't mind scattering them all over my bed from time to time.

    I could post my workspace

but then I'd have to kill you. Atleast, my work-workspace. My home-workspace is like, my laptop on my lap, which is usually on my bed. So It'd be a photo of my crotch.

I do have some animation, but no way to reach it right now. It's locked away at school where I have no access to it.

Not much to see either; just a bunch of basic exercises, like the bouncing ball, bowling ball drop/roll, paper drop, rollercoaster (that got deleted! grah!), and some other stuff. They kind of have us working on everything at once here, so what you probably saw was my layouts and inbetween assignments for their respective classes.

I just now finished putting together my portfolio for life drawing, so once I get that reviewed i'd be happy to show you guys what we do around here. I'll probably add stuff as the week goes by, because it's still week 11 and I have a buttload of homework to finish.

My current flat is in this awesome old building that used to be a hostel. The landlord has given myself and the girlfriend the go ahead to fix it up. See the door behind the desk? On the other side... There is no door...

Temporary set-up, my tower and monitors are currently being used in the living room until I can purchase a new TV, the old one being dead now.
