Currently in the User Panel under "Edit Details" there is a small subsection for "Gaming and Network Information" which has a few fields for the more common gaming/social networks.
Yet there's no field for putting in your Steam ID. Can a new field for Steam ID be created, or was it a conscious decision by the powers-that-be not to include this?
I tried to do a search on this topic to see if it was raised before but I got nothing.
