Isn't Batman not dead, just in the past? I thought that's where the Omega Sanction or whatever Darkseid hit him with sent him. Have they explained that, or is it just "And now for absolutely no reason... BATMANS!"?
Nekron says:
"You have served your purpose, 'Bruce Wayne.' Back to rest." He then severs the connection.
I'm pretty sure that makes it clear that he knows it isn't Bruce, and that it isn't Bruce. 1) Why the fuck wouldn't you want Batman on your side when you just co-opted Ollie for f's sakes? 2) The entire point of using "Bruce" seemed entirely predicated on creating the Emotional Tether ("Emotional Tether Registered" BL caption comes up repeatedly) with the other heroes who've come back from the dead.
send rings after the Guardians, who were, as I recall, all dead at one point?
Well, re: the Guardians.
I don't suppose you can feed on them and use them at the same time. Or something.
Ok so coming at that from a different angle, Batman, who analyzes everything, got hit up with a Sinestro Corps ring some time ago. Having the intel he has, which theoretically spans most of all of the DC universe's history, wouldn't he put together a future immergence of the whole spectrum of colors and respective gaining a Corps? And then wouldn't he try to at least booby trap his corpse?
batman would require pretty specific information that was, for a long time, kept strictly under lock and key by the guardians to make a prediction like that. he's good, but he probably had more pressing business most of the time.
but hey, maybe when he was in the future with the legion in that first brave and bold arc he took a minute to real quickly read up on major historical events around his time in order to get a little edge. probably not, though!
mostly i just wanted to mention it because the way batman chumps brainiac after brainiac is so mouthy to him is just so satisfying

Chief Wiggum: "Ladies, please. All our founding fathers, astronauts, and World Series heroes have been either drunk or on cocaine."
Here's some Guardians of the Galaxy scans that were also good, I consistently enjoy this series every month. It was a pretty heavy Moondragon issue, but I don't mind that all that much because I'm not all that acquainted with her.
Anyways, one of these pages made me frown intensely. Can you guess which?

This was such a heavy week! Pretty much everything I read was good. So, instead of scanning in the entirety of Giant Size Thor Finale, I present to you why I love Rogue and her powers are the best.

New Avengers was pretty good this week, they did smart things and didn't act incredibly retarded. Jessica Jones whining was pretty grating and Ive never liked Luke Cage and so couldn't care less if he died and the end panel was predictable but the fighting and some of the art was excellent. May post scans.
I feel like I should pick a more macho motw, but secretly I was making a face while I read Ms. Marvel's date with Spider-man, especially the hot dogs at the end. I like Peter more with industry people than civilians.
Having said that, I really liked Pepper's reaction to Tony's brain reboot after she left the hospital room.
I think its that his family hated him because of his powers and that hes worked for the villains to purposely hurt people like Penance to keep them in line and watched people purposely marched off to their deaths.
ANd Penane lost his memories ages ago, hes been blocking out everything that happened at Stamford (though again it wasn't his fault and his hard-on for it makes little sense) and hes been drugged up and mind-fucked to ensure he keeps it forgotten and he remains useful.

Yes, yes it is. Fantastic.

Yeah, he's one of the few villains who has actually reformed, though under Osborn he's still not inclined to ask too many questions about the work he's doing.
Course his girlfriend, Diamondback, has just revealed herself as a spy for the New Warriors. Now that he knows, it'll be interesting to see how he reacts.
I'd love to see him side with the good guys and be a great hero.

Did anyone read Superman Secret Origin #3? I saw some pages on S_D and it seems like Man of Steel AND Birthright are now thrown out (and Lois in both was so cool).

Also, specifically, years ago Trauma's powers kicked in and caused him to turn into Nightmare, his mother's worst fear, which put her in a mental health facility. The Hood offered to cure her insanity and restore her to normal in exchange for Trauma's co-operation in keeping Penance and other Initiative crazies malleable.

I liked it, although they give him this mental fixation on numbers that he doesn't have anywhere else. We don't really get inside his head much, though I thought it was worth it for the interaction with Doctor Doom alone.
He's been pretty dull so far in Initiative, since they sent him right off the deep end. Now that he's back to normal hopefully he'll get more interesting, like he before the Thunderbolts team switch.

I've always liked Trauma, and now I like him even more. I might have to read Initiative on the regular like I used to.
Also: Why hasn't Greg Land been fired? His art (aka tracing) looks like shit and fucks up good books. It's not like it's a secret to everyone, there are websites dedicated to his suckery.

Can someone explain this to me? I love Taskmaster and all, but I don't exactly read every Marvel comic so I don't get the reference.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
Taskmaster has been a complete asshole to him for the duration of his mental problems, in addition to encouraging him to get worse. And not ten minutes before that scan, even, he was trying to get Penance to kill his friends when he didn't recognize them.
He has a lot of reasons to be irritated with him.

The third image in that sequence should be exactly the same as the second, except for a thin layer of soot covering Taskmaster and a couple of thin lines of smoke rising from his eye sockets.
Beasts of Burden #3 had my MOTW of the week, with Orphan's preparations for the story's adventure. This may have not made MOTW if I'd found a copy of Ms. Marvel, but as of now, the orange tabby's got the prize.

He makes deadline and has probably made good friends at Marvel.
Son of Hulk was pretty amazing. I mean its been pretty boring because you#re not dealing with super heroes or any known characters but this comic it all finally came together and has a really good set up for the ending as well.
So Hiro-Kala has taken a personal interest in fucking up Galactus for destroying his world and his mother and has come to another planet, assuming a role as a god and the whole place has just fucking erupted in war as the world itself crumbled and Hiro-Kala is just coming off as a huge super-villain basically and a psychopath letting his allies die without concern. Turns out he's still an a sshole but hes chosen this planet, saturated in the Old Power because Galactus wants it since tasting Hiros home world. Except he's managed to poison that Old Power.

And his stuff sells well.
As much as I absolutely loathe Land and what he represents, I have to admit the reality that most comic purchasers apparently aren't the type of person to care about his tracing.
