A pretty nice Verizon phone running the Google-created Android phone OS that is the closest anyone other device has come to being on the same level as the iPhone.

I don't get "on the toilet" games. Are you shitting for that long? Do you really need to play games while you're taking a shit? I mean, like, you can't just focus on taking a shit for the 10-60 seconds it takes? I get "on the train" stuff, but not the toilet.

It's a nice phone, really. More powerful handset than most available Android devices, running the latest release of the OS, on Verizon's network so that it's open to a fuckload of people.
Android, as my friend keeps telling me (because he just purchased a phone running it), is a great "developer's OS". I mean, I don't really see how that will compete signifcantly with the zillions of developers and apps that are already out there for the iPhone but whatevs.
Actually his main argument against Apple in all regards is literally "Apple sux because Steve Jobs is a dick, and when you buy Apple products you are sucking his dick. Fuck the man, man!"

It's more of a developer's phone because it's open source. So not just apps are being developed. the SDK is available to the public, so people can flash their custom versions of the Android rom.
Even though that technically voids the warranty, but you can unroot your phone.
t knob: Google decided to create an open-source OS specifically for mobile devices, it's been out for a little over a year or so now and there are a few handsets using it and it's pretty 'okay' but what they're lacking is the insane amount of apps that Apple has collected in the App Store. On the plus side, developers don't have to deal with the insane amount of hoops and restrictions iPhone app developers have to jump through.
Last screenshot is a brand new jailbreak app called multifl0w that lets you display and select backgrounded apps in a really neat way. Still kind of buggy but the dude is planning to add more features soon.
tell me about augmented reality and how it's probably something fucking stupid and nowhere as cool as it sounds
basically you use your camera on your phone to see the world and the program overlays information like if you're looking at a restaurant it will tell you about the restaurant

using the camera on your phone you can overlay data pulled down from the internet to view information about what you're seeing. One of the first iPhone AR apps was Yelp, which is a restaurant/store review site. Using the built-in GPS and compass, you can move the phone around and it'll show you stuff.
blurry as hell photo go
It's still in it's infancy, but it's got some really cool use cases, like, a mechanic working on a car could have a set of glasses that could highlight specific parts he needs to work on
did you guys see that iphone thingy where a dude draws an isometric sketch then points the camera at it and the phone renders an editable 3d object from it
i'm trying to find the video of it

But mostly Google.
It's primarily used for smartphones now, but a lot of people are experimenting and putting it PMPs and netbooks.
It's neat shit.

i mean, i don't want to suck steve jobs' dick
Yeah he kind of forcibly thrusts it at your face if you develop on the iPhone. Just as well, since the market is now saturated.
Well, I mean, it's only a figurative dick sucking. Can you cope with that?
my CARD is covered in PORRIDGE

aaand here's what my phone looks like:
