Man my list of PC games purchased via download over the last year has gotten MASSIVE, and I've paid damn near next to nothing for most of them because of all the kickass sales on places like Steam or Direct2Drive.
Bioshock - 5$
Assassin's Creed (eh, but still a high budget game) - 5$
The entire Overlord series - $15
World in Conflict - 5$
etc. etc. etc.
It's like some rule where if you wait long enough, the game you want will eventually be 5$...at least for a short period of time.
I've had my newest PC for something like six months and I've only ever opened the optical drive twice--to install software for work. It's so weird for me to hear these debates elsewhere about whether or not digital distribution is going to catch on in regards to video games. (In regards to consoles, mostly).
I understand not everyone has access to fast connections/no bandwith caps, but at the very least, the next generation of consoles should allow for the digital distribution of new releases, direct to the console. If I can't hit "download and play!" on the next xbox console at midnight on a game's release day, then fuck that noise.
I love owning physical copies of things but darn if the convenience of Steam doesn't grow on you. Especially with older games - no need to worry about patching and making sure your settings are correct, they already did it for you.
The last sale, they'll program the page to only show games you already own at a 90% discount.

Er, yeah it's getting to the point where I have to scroll quite a ways to reach the bottom of my steam games list.
It's weird, but I almost covet my Steam game collection more than I would a collection of physical disks/CD cases...something about knowing I can delete/re-download any of them at any point, and yet they are all still visible under my "owned games" list.
Anyway...RE5? Yay or nay? Caveats being I am perfectly capable enjoying mediocre games...some of the games I enjoy most are the ~75 metacritic games I pick up on a whim, in fact. I was also a pretty huge fan of RE4.

I wouldn't even call resident evil 5 mediocre. It's just not amazing. I would play it.

I have no idea why I bought the THQ pack. I'm never going to go through all those games.
Man and L4D2....I love the idea of the game but I couldn't stand the first one and the new one is set in the South which makes me want it even less.

Turns out, it wanted my fuckin' NAME in all caps.
My story is now that I got so fed up that I YELLED all my information at Steam and it finally gave in and let me purchase game.

I streamed an episode of The Office!
And when it was done I just had a couple more minutes to wait until KOTOR was all downloaded!

I just want a nice box to go with it.
Also I'm fairly certain my computer is going to explode.

Sometimes sales make me wish buying a game twice gave me more game to play

Borderlands, Trine, Spore, City of Heroes, Resident Evil 5, Order of War and Left 4 Dead.
Eh. EEEEEEh.
Next!
I guess I'm pretty late to the party, but Left 4 Dead for ~$8? Yes. Want.
Man these $5-$20 purchases are so much easier to make when you're like me and spend $10-15 a day on coffee/lunch/cigs, etc.
