Virus or something took down my audio?

I opened a corrupted .pdf, and instantly got attacked by a virus posing as an anti-virus software that I hadn't installed of course.

I cleaned the virus with Spybot and Norton, but my audio is still shot. Any ideas? I am certain it was the virus because the video I was watching cut off RIGHT when the virus first appeared.

Try using system restore to a point before you opened the pdf.

What's the status of your card in device manager?

You might try simply telling windows to re-use your audio in the audio settings. I had to do this when my computer was having similar symptoms after a virus. Of course reinstalling drivers should do the same thing. Is there a red x over the volume panel on the taskbar?
