they said that so long as fanmade stuff wasn't $100+ they'd be fine with it, and they were OK with upgrades because it encouraged purchasing the actual official product
I don't see it being anymore than $80 like Hearts of Steel Optimus (I know different Company).
I may be tempted to purchase, Springer is pretty awesome and so is that Toy.

So uh, I know going in that the original Transformers is laughably bad. But I was not prepared for this. Watched More Than Meets The Eye Pts. 1, 2, and 3.
- How does Bumblebee fit into the back of Wheeljack when Wheeljack is in vehicle mode. Or in the back of Ironhide when he's in vehicle mode. Harghblarghl (I know scale is an issue that's come up before, it's nothing new, but... wtf)
- So one minute they're leaving Cybertron, and SUDDENLY EARTH.
- Shockwave seems pretty cool.
- Megatron is flying by the seam of his pants (do they wear pants?) "hmm, I do not know where we are, but my first priority is to gather energy, then we will build THE ULTIMATE WEAPOOOOON"
- everybody flies goddamnit that's so stupid.
- If everyone can fly why did Optimus need to be pulled out of the ocean by Jazz tossing him a rope harghlblargh
That said, it does have a certain charm, I'll probably watch a few more episodes whenever I'm bored.

According to the backstory for the thing, Hasbro was pissed about the direction for 2, and wanted certain things toned down and other things played up.
Here's how I know it's fake
They travel back in time to the 80's and get their old G1 alt modes, except for Megatron and Soundwave who are tanks. Optimus's trailer disappears because it's a hologram projection from Mirage.
The Autobots get their alt modes from a little satellite like robot called Teletraan 1.
Also, Starscream kills Megatron by impaling him with wreckage after the Decepticon ship crashes into the ocean and the Ark hits a mountain. Megatron says, "No, Starscream, I still function!"
Starscream, "Wanna bet?"
Oh yeah, DarkHawke, this thing has
Shockwave and Ultra Magnus come in at the very end, with an Autobot city built on Mars
