Since the last thread probably faded into obscurity, let's give this another shot.

Deluxe edition:

Release date: April 17th

What is this about, exactly?
The Children of Húrin (2007) is a forthcoming completion of a tale by J. R. R. Tolkien. Begun in 1918 and revised several times, the tale was never completed by Tolkien before his death. Tolkien's son, Christopher Tolkien, has now completed the tale for publication for the first time as an independent work.

I preordered the deluxe edition months ago (if it's anything like the LotR 50th Anniversary edition it'll be well worth it). My excitement for this is ineffable.

tl;dr?

First complete, independent story from Tolkien since the publication of The Silmarillion in 1977. Can I get a yallume?

Yeah, I'm totally going to read this.

Also, the new LotR MMO hits open beta Friday, try to get yourself a code and join up. It is a pretty good game.

I was in pre-beta and the closed beta stage. Is the client more stable than it was, say, 4 weeks ago?

I just can't get used to the idea of my beloved Middle Earth being populated by adventurers and magic users. Does it retain the feel of the books or movies?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but your adventuring is limited to Eriador (which is okay, because Eriador is huge). From what I've seen, they've done a fantastic job designing its locales.
