I dunno man the fact that there's gonna be spent nuclear fuel buried underground about 90 miles away from me and Teefs isn't exactly comforting

Even though the SCIENCE! behind it looks pretty solid and I probably wouldn't be affected in any case

But you know, radioactive AIDS :(

Because once we get futuristic space travel, we get Space Marines. And that will be pretty sweet.

It's not that it can't be done

It's that it's still too expensive and there's not a national transportation network that can still safely accomodate flying cars

You have no idea how complicated the FAA and the national airway system is

i would look up statistics on the ridiculously low amount of actual discoveries that have been made due to the space program but i am too lazy. the first step towards change is being aware of a situation. whether or not i personally do something isn't relevant. i was talking about how the dangers of nuclear waste disposal have been completely overblown by the media much like plutonium was in the 50s. at that time it was because the energy industry was worried that if people were too comfortable with it we would see a 'plutonium economy' that would have people with little reactors in their homes chugging away. the waste concerns are equally bs

but this argument isn't even really about space travel its mainly about the fact that blasting waste off into space is a retarded idea given the relative safety of burying it in incredibly safe containment deep deep underground.

the only flying car system that could maybe work is one that has automated cars that the people have no real control over. and no one wants to spend 50,000 dollars on something they cant actually drive

I could see me wearing one of those grey imperial officer caps to something star wars related (if there was free food), but thats because those hats are pretty cool and I might get some sweet, sweaty, flabby and hairy pootang with it.
