pfft, Cruise Control. More like.. um.. I just don't use it. never seemed worth the trouble.

It's great when you're giving road head, but anywhere else and it is pretty useless. I do lots of half and half, so I love it.

It has its time and places, but yeah, inner city traffic usually isn't it.

My cruise control went out 3 years ago when we replaced my clutch

I've gotten used to going without it

Wait i used it once driving home from Toronto, because it wasn't my car and it was a hassle to keep checking how fast i was going.

Cruise control is a godsend on the 5. Going from San Francisco to San Diego, or Seattle to San Francisco, you spend a lot of time on the pedal.

Driving by yourself is better then driving with another person a lot of the time, yeah. Unless they don't know how to drive and aren't correcting you as things go along.

    god I hate this

drivers license is a bit.. different to obtain in Germany

First, you have to listen to about 10 hours of lessons, then you take a pretty easy test on those
Then you have to do something like 20 regular driving hours, 2 night driving hours and special tasks like starting the car while facing upwards on a hill, the different parking types.

Afterwards, you have a practical driving test that takes about an hour, where all this is tested with your instructor and another, official tester, who is often an ex-general or ex-higher-ranking-military, as to make it harder to bribe him.

All in all it costs about 2-3000 (two-three thousand) euros, depending on how many driving hours you have to take before your instructor thinks you can take the test, and whether you fail one of the tests.

You can try as often as you want, but repeating the written portion costs about 100 euros, the driving part is about 500

Edit: Here's one of those written tests

This American Life from this week is really good. They troll around a party weekend at Penn State, but if you attended any sort of major party school, it's like looking into a mirror.

There's almost nothing said in this episode I didn't see at my school, both good and bad.

Jumping from the first page to the last is morbidly amusing, in how quickly the thread appears to have derailed.

It's good if a page makes it three pages without changing topics.

    Dialect is infectious!

    It's true.

Try spending a week around people with only Scottish accents and you'll notice a change in the way you speak.

But Achewood is a webcomic so what am I even saying!

With potential for being ironically unironic, though it's not like anyone but you can know that. Think of it as Schrödinger's Cat playing chess in the dark with baby Hitler.

I don't think it has so much to do with "talking like achewood' as much as it does with "achewood talks is magnificent"
