What's this game?
Assassin's Creed II is a non-linear action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 video game consoles, and Microsoft Windows. It is the third video game installment of the Assassin's Creed series and is a direct sequel to the 2007 video game Assassin's Creed. The game was released on video game consoles in November 2009, and will be ported to Microsoft Windows in March 2010.

Where does it take place?

Florence!

Venice!

Tuscany!
www.totalvideogames.com_AC2_S_083_Tuscany_DoubleAssassinate_69740__size_655_1500.jpg

How'd all this get here?
The game is set in 2012, with player-controlled protagonist Desmond Miles escaping from Abstergo Industries with an employee, Lucy Stillman, after being forced to relive the genetic memories of ancestoral assassin Altaïr ibn La-Ahad through a machine known as the "Animus". After escaping from Abstergo, Desmond enters a device identical to the Animus and relives the genetic memories of ancestoral nobleman Ezio Auditore da Firenze, who lived during the Renaissance period of the late 15th and early 16th centuries in Italy. The player controls Ezio, who becomes an Assassin after his father and brothers are murdered. While controlling Ezio, the player can explore game renditions of Italian cities and counties in open world gameplay. The gameplay is a mixture of action, stealth and acrobatics.

Mostly all about killing Italians dead.

Downloadable content
On December 1, 2009 Ubisoft announced its first two downloadable content (DLC) releases for Assassin's Creed II for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The first one entitled Battle for Forlì will continue the story of Caterina Sforza and is expected to come out in January 2010. The second one, entitled Bonfire of the Vanities, will likely concern the mass burning of sinful objects in Florence and is scheduled to be released in February 2010.

Buy it.

AC1 Spoilers, for those who avoided it, cross posted.

Only thing the video fails to mention, is
The visions you see at the end were written in blood by the previous person they put in the Animus, Subject 16 (Desmond is subject 17).

I got this for Christmas and I liked the first one a lot but this improves on it in every way. I'm not very far into the game proper, because I want my town to be so ballin' I'm just grinding cash by finding treasure chests and tackling pickpockets.

Also the only really annoying achievements to get in AC1 were those stupid flag collector ones. I was so sick of it when I was 2/3rds of the way through but I had come that far so I figured I might as well finish.

I picked this up in the post-Christmas sales. I think I'll probably like it, given that I really liked the first game. Tempted to actually go back and knock of the last few missions for 100% completion before starting 2, except I'd have to do all the Lucy dialogs, and bugger working out which one(s) I'm missing.

I have so much money in this game. I've been playing since Xmas day, and I've only done the first Assassination in Venice, but I have bought everything it's possible to buy, and still have 250,000 Florins, with 12,000 more coming every 20 minutes.

Those damn chest maps, I just can't help myself. Can't find all those little statues though.

I couldn't find the last goddamn Templar in the first game. I think I'm gonna speed-run through the game to get them and the Conversationalist achievement before playing AC2 but with my 360 red-ringing I don't even know if I'm gonna have much time from when I get it back to when Mass Effect 2 comes out.

Mass Effect 2 kind of takes priority to me.
