What's this scandal and NCAA business?

I noticed he was an analyst for the BCS game, which is pretty strange for an active coach.

Apparently he was given a car or something. I guess there are also questions about Joe McNight's girlfriend driving around a Range Rover or something.

There are Pete Carrol rumors every year and it never happens. I still don't see it happening.
I'd never taken any of the rumors seriously until this one.

Considering that the rumors are now "He's taken a job. They are signing the contract right now."

And the USC Athletic Coordinator doesn't seem to know what's going on.

Apparently, the reason why it's not confirmed/official is because of the "Rooney Rule" which requires the Seahawks give a cursory interview to a minority candidate.

That doesn't take long. The Redskins already hired Mike Shanahan.

Tomlin got the job because the Rooneys were actually interested in hiring him and not just filling a quota

Asking that question makes it seem like they would not have interviewed him if the rule didn't exist, and considering he was one of the hottest coordinators in the league at the time is pretty unfair to Tomlin.

Also, the rule is named after the Rooneys since they were the diving force behind it in the first place.

So I think it's safe to say they already had no problems looking at minority canidates.

Man, the Hammer must be ready to drop at SC. Seattle isn't going to give him full control and that team is sure to have a few more losing seasons with the way the current FO is running the team... I can't see why he would even want to make that move of all moves to get back in to the NFL.

Isn't he all like "hay guyz, i don't care bout discipline, lets go surfin dudes, here, drive this Escalade an agent got you even though its illegal and stuff"? I doubt that will translate well to the NFL.

And yea, he had a winning record, but come on, so did Herm Edwards for awhile

I've said the same thing about Carrol's record before but when I did a bunch of Pats fans said if I actually watched the games when he coached them I'd understand why they hate him.
