I just need to start going and that's one of the few places I might be able to afford. I almost got into Art Center, but I couldn't come up with the money for it.

College, and for whatever reason art colleges in particular, are ridiculously expensive these days. That's the major reason why I didn't stay on in order to graduate. Probably 75% of the total reasons. Give or take 5-10%.

PierceNeck get your ass down here. Yes we all currently take classes at Watts Atelier. Kevin and I were in a class together last night, and Chase (Loomdun) was in a class in the next room. He has a beard now! A beard! Loomdun!

Anyways, its a great school. In fact for learning to draw well, its one of the best out there. Maybe just plan a day (not a Sunday) where you can make a trip down to check out the school. Or better yet, call Jeff Watts. The number at the top right of the website pretty much goes to his cell phone I think. Make sure you have an hour to talk to him first, as he can be a bit talkative. Also Ikage is planning on coming out this summer, and Asamof the Horrible maybe next quarter if he can. DDV has also been making some effort to come out I believe.

If he asks you can tell him Ryan demanded that you call him.

The thought of spending a lot of money/time on school to try and make a career out of art scares the shit out of me. So glad I've found my career, a happy medium of art/computers/videogames.

Well thats the beauty of Watts Atelier...I spend more on food each quarter than on classes (even when I was taking a lot more of them). Shit these days I probably spend more on gas because I am taking so few classes.

Sweet! Is it at least somewhat cheap to get a studio apartment or something down there?

    <--- is now flabbergasted!

In other news; This might be a little late for a resolution, but I'm gonna try to stop drinking beer during weekdays altogether. Weekends are still super fine, but I'm going to consciously try not to buy or drink any alcohol Monday through Friday (afternoon). I consider Friday nights to be part of the weekend.

Not only can I flat out not afford it, even if a 40oz of Cobra is only $2.05, but I feel like punching my liver daily will eventually take an unwanted toll.

So, there it is! Beer only on weekends from now on!

EDIT - Without actual, reliable numbers, I can in no way be convinced of what Cake is saying. All of my experience in terms of the cost of college is polar opposite to what Cake just said. I know full well that Massachusetts is one of the most expensive states in the US to live in, and also one of the most expensive in terms of college tuition, but still....Spending more on food than classes? Really?

No. It isn't. The cheapest thing to do would be to find a roommate. Then you can probably get by on $500-600 a month rent..maybe a little more depending on how nice a place you want.

I've scarcely drawn at all these week. I'm slightly afraid of incurring Beavo's wrath tomorrow, for not having done my resolution doodles. Maybe I'll just draw for four or five hours straight tomorrow afternoon to make up for it.

In any event, I'ma go listen to Dune on audio book for an hour or so, and then hit the hay.

    G'night, PA:AC.

I was with my brother in law and it was fantastic all day, and then we decided that the next run would be our last one because we had been there all day and were a little worn out. Well it was by far the best and most awesome run of the day, but then when I got to the very very absolute-end bottom, I relaxed completely and my board wedged into the snow and I crashed backwards. I have a high pain tolerance though and I had my coat on so I didn't know it was broken. I was really hurting in the car but I figured it was a sprain. Once I got home and saw it though, there were several places where things were jutting out that were not supposed to be and it was extremely swollen, so I went to get x-rays. Sure enough.

I think it's hilarious though, because it was truly the very last possible moment during the day that I could have fallen and gotten hurt... and that's when I did, haha.
