I've been having an interesting idea for a kind of forum game/creativity bucket/mucking around thing.

The basics of it are that one forumer would post a description of a certain kind of character. Nothing too specific, but nothing too vague. Just the outlinings of a character, personality, some background, the main themes. Could even be an already existing character with a twist.

Then, the rest, the artistic geniouses, would begin their work. Each person would draw that character according to what they understood, adding their little details and their own style. The results could be realistic, could be fantastic, hero or villain, grimdark or kawai, an amazing work of art or something out of a third grader's notebook.

The idea of this would be to see how each person's artistic background affect the way they create characters, the differences and similarities.

In the end, a vote could be started and the person with the best design could post a new description.

Right now, this is just an idea. I want to see what you guys think of it, and, if the idea is accepted, a little help in creating the rules to be followed.

Sounds a little like some of the challenge threads.

yeah the challenge threads are almost this exactly
but it's basically you follow a theme, not specifically character design but some sort of theme
    check it out, it's cool
barely anyone seems to contribute to them, so contribute!
