War breaks out in both the north and the south! Loyalties are questioned! Betrayal soaks the streets with blood!
The orders:
The results:
A Turkish army, already pushed back from Rumania by the Russians, is driven from Bulgaria by a sudden Austrian attack and destroyed with nowhere to retreat. However, the Turks have seized the Black Sea, a vital point from which to launch future assaults. Overall, the south is a bloody mess.
Russia also clashes with Germany in the north, and with English support they claim another vital supply centre in Sweden.
Clarification on support orders: if you're supporting a unit's move action, you must include the action the target unit is making in the order, eg F eng S F nwy -> nth.
F eng S F nwy simply orders your fleet to support the fleet in Norway in a holding action.
In addition, you may support units which are holding, but also units which are supporting, helping them to hold their own position. This allows you to daisy chain hold support actions amongst a series of units.
After Inquisitor posts his retreat, we will do the builds.
The snows melt away, and new troops take the field, full of misguided patriotism and easily manipulated, murderous jingoism! Soon they shall meet in the bloody trenches and fight for an increase in wealth for the upper class and no ethically justifiable purpose whatsoever!
Here is the map of Europe's current Ouroborosian self-destruction:
In the north, English forces have consolidated their hold on Scandinavia, but Germany's fleets still lurk in Sweden and the Bothnian sea, and Russia may yet have a say.
The Russian defenders of Warsaw grimly hunker down as winter melts away, knowing that as the snow goes, so come the German armies that bear down upon them. Will they receive support from their Ukrainian brethren, or will Austrian interference doom them to a losing battle?
In the south, Austria grows in power, coming to rival France in sheer number of troops; tightly clustered, their intentions are undiscernable. However, Italy moves west to counter the French incursion that was cunningly foiled by a gamble on Tuscany, one of the key points in Italy's defenses.
Turkey trails with three units, but has managed to hold the Black Sea and keep the enemy out of Armenia for now. There is always the possibility of a resurrection of their power, should the Turks be cunning enough.
Sorry for the delay, everyone! Busy weekend, and my girlfriend coopts the computer for Dragon Age whenever I turn my back.
Russia is pushed into the cold, lonely north, and everything is in disarray! Munich is lost to the French! Austria has Moscow! Warsaw is in German hands! Brest is tread upon by English feet! Men wear shoes on their heads and hamburgers eat people!
