Manchester Black removed his memory of the secret ID in Ending Battle, although it was hinted when Luthor was kicked out of office if he might have remembered due to jacking himself up with kryptonite.
And then Infinite Crisis put the genie back in the bottle and Luthor turned back in the forty cake stealing mad scientist, like how Joe Chill returned as the person who killed the Waynes.
Luthor held the ID over Clark very well, but President Luthor was cool to begin with until Superman/Batman.

Devlin Waugh was envisaged as a mix of Noel Coward and Arnold Schwarzenegger. He's awesome and decapitates people with his bare hands while complaining that everyone's being simply beastly to him.
Other great 2000AD moments include the very end of Zenith, when Grant Morrison pulls off the only really satisfying 'It was a dream' ending I've ever seen, and the end of Killing Time, which was beautiful and strange and weird, and the bit in Dredd where he finally succmubs to Block Mania and demands to know who his fellow Judges are fighting for, because he's with Rowdy Yates Block.
And the end of the Apocalypse War, obviously, as he commits genocide and does not hesitate for even a second.
EDIT: Block Mania, not Black Mania. Although that in itself would be an interesting story.

i think its mentionned early on that he got stripped of his olympic medals for 'roid abuse...
theres a second trade after swimming in blood which i've still not read. anyone know if its any cop?
i went through all the zenith trades a while back and it seems to come to an end, am i right in thinking theres a final chapter which is only available in single issues though? most vexing if so...
i'm a big fan of the ennis dredd stuff, even though he's a lot more one-dimensional than when wagner's writing. lots of satisfying headbutting :^:
That was a pretty good issue, it reminds me of a time when I didn't hate Peter David. The sort-of follow up to it he did a few years ago with the current cast of X-Factor was fun too.
I love love love David's original run on X-Factor. I'll have to dig out some issues to scan, particularly Havok at the scene of Madrox's "corpse".
(Also, the origin of Strong Guy's code name is the best ever). I also need to dig up the bachelor party issue of Hulk that David wrote. It's been a long time since I've read it, but I'm sure there are some awesome-worthy moments.

And finally Citizen V is one of the best characters created over the past 15 years, they should really do something more with him (and the V-Battalion). And his first mini had some great action as well as a reveal as good as the last page from T-Bolts #1:
I probably don't remember it correctly but Cables evil son kidnapped Wolverine to make him one of his minions. Various evil genius experiments are used as well as the attempt at putting metal back on Logan's bones [he had the origional stuff yanked out by Magneto]. It doesn't go well, I remember something about Wolverine blasting everyone in the room with "shrapnel" thanks to his healing factor [which was super pumped up at this stage, nothing compared to the whole "reforming from a single blood cell but it was exceptional for the time]. Now at this point the Turtles show up to rescue him and wolverine kills Mikey in a beserk rage, feels bad and takes up his mask to honor his fellow mutants memory. Cannonball was there. Cables evil son dies via the shrapnel,which even when I was 15 and reading that issue I thought was pretty fucking silly. What else, oh ya I'm pretty sure he looks extra fuzzy/animal-like cause he was all messed up from all the stuff above.
Now go back and re-read all that stuff I wrote and count how many times the name "Alf" comes up.

Wolverine's healing factor, without the adamantium in his body, was turning him into a wolf or something. That isn't even half as bad as he was, Madueria made him look like a troll.
I always forget how much I like Reilley's Spider-man costume.

There are so many blasts from the past in here that I don't even know where to start putting :^:s.
All of that early 90s X-factor / X-Men stuff is where I stopped reading comics for a good decade, but I think I have those issues in a box somewhere or other. Hmm.

Yeah, we get an explanation for how the X-Men get new costumes when the old ones get torn up. Shi'ar tech, just can't beat it.
They have been known to do that, as well. Unstable molecule clothing is mentioned a few times early on during Claremont's first run. (Someone has been re-reading his Essentials....)
For further Gravity reading, check out the League of Losers TPB, as well as the 2006 Marvel Holiday Special. Also, here's a fun fact: Gravity's design was based in part on the aborted teen Blue Beetle character that Mike Norton pitched to DC, with writer J. Torres.
In honor of the upcoming Valentine's Day, have some scans from the MODOK: Reign Delay one-shot.
Aw, what a cool couple. I always like when writers can capture the subtle, endearing annoyances that are a part of real relationships. I'd like to see them play a bigger part in-- Hhhh.. Never mind.

Munch, they get paid on a per character killed basis. They need the money, otherwise they can't pay for scalpels for their kids to mutilate neighborhood pets and continue the family tradition.
....League of Losers has Gravity in it? I think I'll check it out now. I know he was in Beyond!, died or something, then somehow came back in FF, but by then I gave up on him being around.

The Devlin Waugh stories after Swimming in Blood were ok, but not quite as good. The artist on one of them was the guy who did Zenith, Steve Yoewell.
Ennis himself has said that he thinks his Dredd stuff doesn't quite measure up to Wagners.

When reading Cap's lines in that it sounded like Stephen Colbert in my head. The wording and all.... probably just me.
