edit: regarding ship and captain types, don't sweat it too much. The actually differences between captain types are a lot less than differences between classes in other MMOs. The tank/dps/healz aspects are more tied to ships because of the BO selections they offer.

Yeah, no preorder bonuses until the real launch is kind of a kick in the balls to all us preorderers. I'm just gonna use this weekend to grind up some nice items to trade to my real character once the game goes fully live.
You have to start a normal character first, login and THAN you have to access the c-store (under your minimap, unlock special xxx) and than you can create your borg.
And it wasn't mentioned in the pre-order bonuses because its not one. It's a perk for getting the LTS directly from Cryp.

Oh. Yes. That's actually how it kinda worked with Champions.
The current performance of the game leads me to believe that, while there aren't any Liberated Borg BOs yet, there may indeed be Liberated Servers that are rebelling against their former masters.
