Trying to format this laptop. I have the primary boot device set as the optical drive, and a confirmed-working XP disc in the drive. It keeps giving me a "non system disk or disk error" message. Try switching optical drives?

There was as much complaining as I expected, just not from the sources I expected. One of the girls has a new boyfriend and he came along. And didn't stop whining the whole damn time. The girls were pretty mellow about all of it except some blanching when I explained how to deal with human waste. But the boyfriend spent all of his time really making an ass out of himself. I spent the better part of an hour prepping wood to get some dry wood and he spent the time making snarky comments. It made it feel very nice to start it with the second strike of my flint and steel. I ended up making him the fire bitch while the girls and I went hiking. They were very excited when we found a family of whitetails.
Mushiness within:
I woke up early on Sunday morning and began the mornings prep. Got the coffee started and began laying out breakfast. The girl woke up and snuggled up against me while asking me while I was up so early. I pointed out the sun as it began to rise and we watched it rise together. Later she made fun of me for slipping back into my laconic New Englander ways.
Over all it was a nice trip even if they distrusted my cowboy coffee at first. But I suspect they are never going to propose going back out camping.
