    is that the softcover all-star superman 2? amazon took my order for that before xmas with no indication it's a pre-order. they keep apologising to me for being late sending it...

    depending on how that nextwave ultimate trade is priced in the UK that may find its way into my friends hands for his birthday.

    my main hope is copies of siege #2 roll into the UK this week. i'm told the truck carrying our copies from the US disappeared into a snowdrift or somesuch, leaving the whole country short-stocked. ofc i've clicked on a bunch of spoilers now and ruined it for myself :(

    it's lighthearted, fun, and just overall pretty good. i mean, it's got to be better than Haunt (i haven't read Haunt at all)

    if it's because of the first couple issues, it's gotten a lot better. the last two issues have been great

    The story is a bit more "serious" than World's Finest, but the humor in the dialogue is still there.

    Keith speaks the truth, Batgirl really gives me that early U. Spider-man vibe that Bendis wrote so well. It's been a lot of fun so far.

    That's a good story peeps if you like Agents of Atlas.

    AoA/Avengers #1 was a lot of fun too. I hope they find some way to keep them around once the current minis are done.

    It's really just cost v.s. interest. I've been trying to shear down my pull list for a couple months now and avoiding picking up new series. But on top of that, the antagonistic mentor/protege relationship between Babs and Steph in the first couple issues didn't really appeal to me, and Stephanie Brown really doesn't interest me much as a character when she's not interacting with the characters I feel she has the most interesting relationships with; Bruce, Tim, and Cass.

    But the series does seem much improved ever since she got her new suit, so I'll pick up the TPB when DC gets around to releasing it.

    I haven't bought the recent Agents of Atlas minis for the same reason. I like the characters, but I'm not so interested in reading about their adventures in the past that I can't wait a few months and get the collected version. Plus, $3.99 per issue for a mini-series is bullshit. I may actually hold off on buying Tails of the Pet Avengers this week for the same reason.

    Avengers vs Atlas had bonus pages that weren't filler silly goosery like other Marvel books. It had a Namora anti-whaling story with Takeshi Miyazawa art (he draws a good Namora).

    I did not know that. I may go pick up the one I missed. Especially since it'll probably be put in a TPB with Atlas/X-Men, which I already own in floppies.
