Also I picked up two books today. Why i decided to add to my insane reading load I have no idea but I thin they should be good.
I got sci-fi/horror/fantasy/western book Finch by Jeff Vandermeer and The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch by Philip K. Dick. The first was more of an impulse buy due to Murder by Death recording an instrumental soundtrack for the book. The latter is a book I've always meant to get but was dissuaded for one reason or another until now.
Hay Guyz! Remember that wicked sweet Monkey & Robot project I just sank the last year of my life in? I just had to make one of the hardest decisions regarding walking away from it yesterday. I demand our sympathy!
Well, I'm glad you asked in a completely unplanned or predicted manner!
The long story short is that after our Animation Magazine win, we got our advisor at the school really excited about turning it into a short film using a class at the school to do it. The plan was my partner would be the director and I'd be the art director, and starting at the beginning of this year we actually had a class put together on the books. Unfortunately, all of this sudden excitement and success went to my partner's head and he usurped control of the project, suddenly forgetting I was the co-creator and trying to rationalize however he could why he was the sole proprietor of the idea and I had merely helped him/worked for him.
I was denied the position of art director for reasons that are becoming more apparent to me now that I see just how much of a power-grab my partner made. But at the time I was foolish enough to think if I worked really hard I could "prove myself" to him and our advisor and still get the art director's role. This of course is despite the fact it should be proof enough that it was my creative force and artistic talents that won us Animation Magazine's contest and got us the ruddy class in the first place.
It only took one day of class to see just how FUBAR the situation had become. My partner, the director, was trying to control everything and wasn't capable of doing it. So as a result outdated assets were being used and distributed and other members of the team were having people stand behind them and bark directions instead of having trust in their experience.
The final straw for me of course was being introduced to the class as someone who "Has been on the project a long time and really knows these characters." Well of course I really know the characters, I'm the bloody co-creator here! I'm not about to pour anymore of my time and energy into a project that was once mine, but is now just me working for someone else. Even if I did make if the best damn short film I could, and we brought it to festivals as planned. If it wins anything, or gets any sort of attention, who do you think is going to be getting job offers or phone calls? Since my partner suddenly refuses to recall the fact I'm co-creator, I know sure as fuck-all it wouldn't be me.
So I decided to fucking walk, which sucks because I put a lot of time and energy into that project only to have all of the success I helped (and at this point would argue was the main driving force behind) go to my partner's head.
I take solace in the fact I know I do award winning work. You can only fake that or take credit from someone else's efforts for so long.
Thanks guys, and you're right, MT. I'm going to turn my energies back on doing stuff for myself now. If nothing else, that win gave me the confidence to try and get my own shit together.
Just if he does get phone calls from other people and does land another project he will be more likely to fail because he was a mooch. He may wind up even calling you back for help. So be ready to say no.
J-P on

That sucks though, munkus. I think places round here have to fight for customers, so they cant afford to do that. Pizza hut sucks anyway, though.
from the time this root beer left the fridge to this moment it has not left my hands or been put down, fuck shampoo was so hard. I don't think I'll put it down till its all gone.
someone here said that drinking a beer in the shower was the epitome of manliness so I accepted the challenge. I don't drink so I wanted to do it with bawls root beer (which counts), finally got it, just did it, succeeded.
I am so appreciative of both of my hands now one handed showers are a bitch
edit: god damnit now i want pizza with this (but not in the shower)
No, the epitome of manliness is drinking a beer in the shower while also shooting a rifle at a buffalo. That person must have got cut off while typing their message.

Legally different in the eyes of the law!
But you know, that's not the end of your creativity... probably that's all he can come up with. Let him have it, you can make something even better.
So that you can justify not helping your mom minus the side effect of all the guilt.
Cocksucker.

I'm goddamn starved, and the suspense is killing me.
I'll let you know how it goes, AC.

I had this happen to me with pizza-hut before. They wrote down the wrong area code.
The response was that I was immediately blacklisted and they refused to ever deliver pizza to me again.
