    There is like easter, and christmas and birthdays and stuff.

    Personally I like to get presents more, cause it's cool when people think about things to give you.

    man i'm talking about monetary presents that a lot of asian families seem to give well into the kid's 20's

    I mean yeah i grew up in a society that gave presents rather than cash, but I can say that the presents i received never made it into the numbers that my asian (japanese, s korean, chinese, vietnamese) friends have gotten. Some of them are in their mid to upper 20s and still get several thousand dollars several times a year

    although if they are simply on the high end of the money spectrum then I guess that has skewed my view
