so then I just went to netflix.com on the PS3 browser and signed in, and it was like
such a slow and shitty interface that I stopped
is that really how netflix streams to PS3? cause compared to netflix on xbox, that bloooooows
They're still working out the kinks and a lot of their attention is on the wii and 360 right now because those were the biggest markets, with 360 already existing and wii having such a console foothold. It should be a lot better within the next few weeks though
like, actually integrated with an app or some shit?

I forgot what I had to do the very first time I inserted it but I had to something on both the computer and PS3 so that it would activate that device (my PS3). I'm pretty sure it game me all these instructions when I inserted the disk.

I got a disc that I pop into my PS3 for Netflix streaming. Works fine for me.

A guy who stands up at the midnight showing of Snakes on a Plane and shouts at everyone to be quiet because he's trying to enjoy the movie is being a bit of an asshole, there.
He's one man, raging against the crowd, because they aren't behaving as he likes.
It is completely equivalent to one man loudly talking over the movie in a crowd full of people trying to enjoy it quietly.
My position is reasonable, it's people who aren't reading my position carefully enough and projecting their own awful cinema experiences onto it that are being unreasonable.
One guy talking on his cell phone during a movie is an asshole.
Three guys sitting in the back row going "OH LAME" and shit during a movie, even an awful movie, are being assholes.
A slow boil-over of nearly everyone in the theater laughing inappropriately or making derisive comments about the movie is a crowd experience and is part of the enjoyment of some films for those people.
I don't have a golden rule or head-count to bust this down into a numerical science as to when it boils over and becomes a thing, but it does happen, especially with obviously schlocky films.
Likewise, one guy standing up in a raucous theater demanding everyone else respect the Sanctity of His Ten Dollars is also being an asshole.
If you can't allow for variances in human behavior and cultural experience that much, that becomes your problem.
I know people who cannot stand even the smallest auditory interruption in their movie-watching experience. I think these people need to go rent fucking DVDs, but I'm not going to get on their case as long as they don't get on mine.
If they act like Ms. Librarian while nearly everyone else is laughing themselves stupid and making wisecracks at Daybreakers, that makes them sort of a snobby nut who probably needs to choose their crowds better.
1) Movies are not "crowd experiences." Being in a crowd doesn't make the experience a "crowd" experience the way you are trying to write it off.
2) The movie experience is advertised as a relatively-silent one.
3) Everyone who sees a movie has paid some amount of money to be there.
The conclusion is this: If you think it's appropriate to heckle loudly, you need to choose your activities better. I don't have to choose my crowds better. All I have to do is complain to the management and have you kicked out. I'd be doing you a favor, too. Getting kicked out often enough might actually teach you what a correct movie-going experience is. You have some fucked up concepts about the experience, apparently.

Because Microsoft signed an exclusivity deal with Netflix to have the software on their console until fall 2010. Sony and Netflix realized there was no language in that deal that prohibited disc-based software from being used, so while Sony waits for the installed-software exclusivity deal to expire, Netflix is providing discs for the PS3 that make it possible to stream natively. Basically it's a Netflix bootloader for the PS3.

And really, the disk works pretty well it's just an annoyance to have to pop it in. Order it from netflix's website and it'll get to you in the time it takes to get a movie.

It was one of the most enjoyable theater experiences I've ever had.
At the end of the movie, they show Sam Jackson with one of the white flight attendants, then it cuts to the white kid with the white girl and some girl in the audience yelled "I like the interracial one better! Go back to that!"
