Nah, I didn't misunderstand, just have a bit of a hair trigger on the subject. I think I mostly agree with you about the actual mechanics of things. (Further than gets even more off-topic)
I'm interested to see how the matchmaking actually turns out. It still might not help me with my friends and skill issues, but we've usually solved that with coop games against the computer, so it's not all terrible.
If you are a PA guy and want to play some games with PA people. You should sign on and find me. Lunysgwen.Giraldus - I'm going to be streaming the games for everyone to watch. 2v2 fun!
Supposedly there's more invites/unlocks going out next week sooo
Not saying I don't believe you, but where did you hear this?

Nobody answered the question so I'll do it.
When is the next wave of invites being sent?
The next wave of invites is being sent next week. This may be for journalists only, but by the sounds of it it is not. (I'm supposed to write up an article but didn't get in. After e-mailing my contact, he said next wave is next week.) Good luck everyone!
Not sure how entirely credible but I'm desperate and will believe anything
BLAAAARG! I get this SUPER sweet email today. Hey, you're pretty cool, wanna beta test our super new game that you and everyone else has waited for for ten years? I'm all, fuck yea! So I head on over to Battle.net to login and start with the downloading......and it asks me for an authentication key? What the hell. I've never used or bought one, and it says you have to add one through the site anyway.
I havent even looked at the site in like four months, since i quit playing WoW. Is this a sign that I have been keylogged/hacked? seems that way...anyway......BLAAARRG!
Ahaha, Blizz's 800 support line is swamped, they just told me to call back another time!

Hope springs eternal!
I hope there are lots of bad players in the beta so I have folks to match against. Barring that, I hope there are lots of PA dudes around who like doing comp stomps.

My friend's boyfriend works at Blizzard, and according to him, my beta invite will be sent out with the next wave, which is, indeed, occurring within a week.

Tell that boyfriend if his girlfriend doesn't give him enough blowjobs i will literally suck his wang so hard for a key.
Well I've only played about 15 games, which make up the 5 "practice" matches and the 10 "placement" matches. Random every time, have yet to play as Toss. I've only lost 1 or 2 matches, but there have been some close ones.
I'm down for some skirmishes if anyone wants to add me--my name in-game is Manic.
To answer NGN, my beta invite was a random one, although I want to believe it had something to do with signing up for a Battle.Net account literally hours after they became available, and opting in for the beta moments afterwards.
My friend, who is guaranteed an invite because he has a 2008 blizzcon key, has yet to get his invite.
Their love of clickfest gameplay. Seriously though, this does look like a fun game, but Total Annihilation was better than Starcraft 1, and looks like it has more going on than Starcraft 2. Playing a game without tactical zoom after playing supreme commander feels like playing an FPS where you can't strafe, you desperately want to do it, but the engine won't let you.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt that way. Out of the big 3 RTS games that came out around the same time (Age of Empires, TA and Starcraft), I always thought Starcraft was the least interesting. These days, it's possible I've played too many Relic games to be super excited about this.
I'm still sort of excited, though. If only for the fact that there will be enough people playing that I will be able to find someone as shitty as I am.
Edit: Oh man, I just remembered Dark Reign, too. Lots of RTS games back then.
Also Nony is playing in the TeamLiquid Starleague SC1 tournament this Sunday and there will be live stream and commentary. Semifinals, winner guaranteed $5000. 2pm EST! http://pstsl.teamliquid.net/

If what you say is true, the Shaolin and the Wu-Tang could be DANGERISK.

There's simply a rundown of different maps/set ups and you pick which you want then it sends you into a game lobby that's currently hosting that.

For those of you who can watch it
For PC recording? All you need is FRAPS and a fairly good processor.

True...I don't know why I thought that, still I could use a capture card, record all my 360 shenanigans.
Sorry, random thought is random. I think I actually have a copy of FRAPS...
*tries to think before he posts*
EDIT: Woo! I do have it still. I'll try a recording later.

anyway they do email you if you get in right? i dont just have to keep checking my bnet account huh
Peff: You are a godsend. Please record some beautiful 720p shit!
You might see it in your bnet account first. Yesterday I saw it on my bnet account at noon and I didn't get the email till like 8 at night.
EDIT: Oh I guess its called nexus charge. wtf does it do?
Streaming 8PST on weeknights
speeds up building of units from whatever building you cast it on.
in the stream im watching, they just did a 2v2 where the toss cast it on the terrans reactored barracks
marines were fucking flying out of that thing, it was nuts
3.
I might even go all the way, and do anal.
I am desperate for this beta as a crazy homeless person is for crack.
edit: holy shit this the the best totp ever.
By the time I get Protoss, I'll be playing someone who can actually fight back...
Slice like a god damn hammer. LoL: Rafflesia / BNet: Talonflame#11979
Man what?? What ladder are you playing in for curiosity's sake? I'm in gold and it's like 5/10 are toss, 3/10 terran and 2/10 zerg.
Like infestor's neural parasite. It'd be nice for it to work for as long as it says it does.
How many people got keys from blizzcon, how many form mother promotions? How many press,a nd how many random opt-ins?

There's a video on his livestream page of him going clockwise around a FFA map and eradicating players in turn.
Hahahaha
Here's the link to the Team Liquid stream,

He just destroyed his 1v1 opponent with a single DT drop.
Probably not much of a chance of seeing any competitive games, but it's still fun to watch. The game is very pretty and fluid.
Carrier's versus zerglings ... who will win?

I'm sad that I never get past like 20 minutes for a game. Its always rush =(
I can do it...I just wouldn't mind seeing some Brood Lords once in a while.
