I'm not sure what to even say. It's a shoe that works as a controller so you can play one video game where you shoot storm troopers and costs over $100?
It's like the power glove on crack.

Just a ridiculous promotion. You could copy that same pattern to a piece of paper and attach it to a stick for a much more playable sort of experience.

I mean, I love augmented reality and want to see more of it on portable devices, this is just the worst possible venue for it. It may as well be on a McDonald's Big Mac box or something.

Adidas has this huge retro Star Wars thing going. They put out Darth Vader shoes, Stormtroopers and Skywalkers, as well as Leia and Yoda kicks.

Someone who goes to hip shows, with a backpack on their back usually containing things like cans of spray paint which will never be used, weed, ipod, etc etc. Usually white kids from the burbs who think they're way more afroinformed than anyone else.

"walk around, and experience the world in TRUE 3d". $100 is nothing for graphics like that! plus a completely open sandbox environment

That's all it needs, but remember each person needs their own screen to be able to see the stuff. Everybody holding up their iphones, looking through it like a viewer onto a world with tiny orcs on their table.

It also requires lots of programming, there are a lot of small demos but you're limited by your ability to program the set up, physics, rules, and graphic design. All it really does is provide coordinates for your view on the scene.

The point of augmented reality is to be able to move around the object and see it from different angles. A single screen just makes it like that Eyetoy card game. Why bother projecting onto your table when you could just be looking at a normal CG world like Oblivion or something?
