Why? The bigger the robot the better. The bigger it is the more crushy-crushy it can do and it's a freakin robot so being smaller doesn't add any real benefits to it.

Voltron and Power Rangers and whatnot all stressed that the giant robot was greater than the sum of its parts.
Because every episode they went "let's try this apart" and got their asses kicked, and then went "well that didn't work AGAIN. Let's just form up into one big robot and win". And they did.
I personally think this is just a big conspiracy to make us think that small, agile robots that can get out of the way of attacks are somehow worse than one big robot that can just be blasted to smithereens that much more easily.

Unless the gigantic robot crushes itself under the immense weight.

Space War is won through production
Production is pretty hard to keep rolling when you glass the usable production facilities of captured planets
The winner is not the man who glasses the most planets, the winner is the man who has the capability to glass the most planets at once to utterly obliterate the opposition if surrender terms are not met

Hey does this Phalla work on a policy of last one in, first one out?
If so... well... crap.
Walk to the center of the crowd and start killing randomly?
I forsee no possible negative outcome.
Reminder to self;
This is not a viable strategy in kindergartens.
All possible outcomes have been classified as "positive" or "extremely positive"
No! The younglings!
