Jacob's okay with that primarily because he's kind of dead, and can't do anything about it.
I had a feeling when Widmore said that Locke had to get back to the island, or 'the wrong side will win'. When they were so vague about naming 'which' side that was, I knew he was instantly a bad guy.

Finally an excellent episode that lives up to the season premiere. Little wonder it involved Benjamin Linus. As for what Widmore wants, I'm fairly sure it is exactly that - to take Jacob's job.

He couldn't kill himself in any way. The bomb was the work of Ben/Keamy.
I'm wondering if we'll see anything relating to this.
I think that's definitely the case. Perfectly explains Jacob appearing on the boat in Michaels last seconds and all the off island antics that led up to it.
I predict it won't be long before we see a montage of every person we've seen jacob touch (in those flashbacks I'll bet)
Ok, so, when Hurley mentioned he spoke to Jacob, the first thing Richard said was "don't trust him."
I think this is a not-so-subtle hint that Richard is changing sides. Jack might regret not killing him, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up betraying everyone.
Really, this was one of the best episodes yet IMO. This whole season is fucking incredible.

They're also from the Ajira flight, so we'll probably be seeing a water bottle of some kind with "Ajira" written on it... I'm guessing this episode.
