This is the first beta I have got into after signing up for one. Been in others but they have been freely available.

Downloading now. I have been put into the Furious Fighters.

I guess we can just jump into the vent channel during the testing times.

Ugh I wanna play this game so bad. Everyone's in but me.

Oh well to help ease the pain here's a really good walk through the devs did (which is also split over several of the podcasts; so if you've watched the podcasts you've seen this already.)

    Also some updated impressions: http://gdc.gamespot.com/story/6253457/gdc-2010-apb-updated-impressions

Well, I fixed the launcher, but it still has an update error due to the servers being offline I guess.

It should be able to update, only thing that won't work is logging in after you launch the game.

Updating failed repeatedly here. Repair worked sometimes, otherwise had to relaunch updater every time.

Don't know what to tell you D:

Ran the small initial install, downloaded the 7.99 gig load of files and "logged" in to be told the servers were not available.

Sorry I can't be more help.

I'm hesitant to speak too much due to NDA funtimes, but I'm enjoying the game in general. Certainly a few things that require addressing, though.

EDIT: If you're an Enforcer, message Elika and we'll group up.

I'm still not sure what type of game they intend this to be, which mostly comes down to what sort of payment system they implement. If they get greedy it won't turn out well.

You know how games like Gears and Uncharted do 3rd person shooting really good? And in multiplayer, even if you have a lesser weapon, if you have some skills, you can still fuck a brother up? It's interesting how some games don't do that, I think.

Yes, it's interesting how games that are totally finished are much more well balanced than games in early beta builds.

    Beta isn't a magical rainbow-unicorn-donuts fix-all process.

Right now performance is an issue and concerning shooting I share the same opinion.

Will it get magically fixed? Who knows! But right now it is.

    According to this article.
APB ships somewhere this summer to Q1 2011.
I'm reasonably sure that if the game needs work, it'll be pushed back.

I couldn't get much proper impressions due to lag/performance which are always the main issue (and purpose) of these stress tests. Only played an hour and a bit of which half was me teleporting around the map in zigzag motion trying to drive straight.
Yes they won't release the game like that, my worries were also elsewhere though concerning other parts of the game. I didn't get to experience the cool juicy bits like groups vs groups.
