Ok, so these are awesome. Someone who used to work for Pepsi made these at a grocery store.

Hey Kakos, RMS or whoever else knows a thing or two about making websites...

Is it like a lot of work to make a site as smooth as http://www.amnesty.org/ what with the flash elements and everything? It looks pretty simple, but I've learned that is usually a sign that there's a lot of hard labour in it.

    Short answer: yes.

The biggest bitch is usually getting it to work on all browsers, as they all like to do things differently.

Also, flash is generally a bugger to work with, but the example on the amnesty site probably wouldn't be that hard to do, as it's not doing anything especially intricate.

    thought so. :( Thanks.

The marketing lady was pointing us to amnesty.org as an example of a nice site. Was just wondering what kind of volunteer we might have to attract to get quality work. I mean, I know enough guys who have made their own little websites, but we'd need a professional or settle for less here.

I wouldn't say it'd be impossible to get someone who can make you a site to the level you want as a volunteer, but obviously your chances of getting what you want would be a lot higher with a professional.

On the plus side, a lot of people starting out as web devs might do it on the cheap as it's a chance to put something nice on their CV.
I know a friend of mine who now works for the BBC website when he was starting out he'd do sites for people for a very modest fee because it was an example of work he could then use to get a real job.

Hmm. Maybe I don't want to put my salary on here.

Is that because I make millions of yen every year and I make you feel inadequate?

Everyone knows that Yen are just M&Ms.

I think the one yen coins are actually plastic.

If I accidentally drop one I often don't even bend down to pick it up.

Well The Lost Boys franchise is currently getting kicked in the dick by the Twilight franchise. I just figured they'd really turn him into a vampire to make shit be authentic.

I dunno, but the twist is of Shamalonian proportions of what the fuck:
He sorts out his Daddy issues, then goes to the World Trade Centre on 9/11 and is killed.

didn't sleep. moved my second monitor, less of an interesting setup than before but ultimately more effective.

I had it way back in my closet, it as sorta cool, and I used it as a tv too but I moved to to my desk and a more standard 2 monitor setup.

now I want to move my tower off my desk to free up space... my speakers are hidden behind monitors.

not sure what to do about it though, I have a table it could go on but I moved it before for some reason and with all the wire tying I do it's a pain to put it back, especially knowing there was -some reason- I moved it.

and I don't want it on the floor. it's stupid big with stupid fans (and I mean stupid... I'm not unhappy but I could maybe have done better, though idk if the vid card I got would be able to fit in a smaller case) and would get too dusty on the floor and be too hard to keep clean.

info dump after a few hours away.

What a load of liberal horseshit. It's the corporations that drive the light market that allows the average Joe to have any. This is simple sparkle-down economics.

and don't even get me started on our ridiculous optical gains tax

You know your store is doing something wrong when your customers would rather drive four hours each way to another town south of the border to do their shopping then ever set foot in your store again.

Incidentally, guess what I did this weekend.
