Hmmm. How about a Hammerhead shark...and a tree sloth.

Finally, I contribute.
Behold, the Hammer Sloth.
I like that phrase. God willing, one day, I will be able to say it to my arch-enemies, moments before unleashing flesh-eating, three-toed fury upon them.
I just got a Wacom tablet at work a month ago and have been practicing with it. This is the first half descent (well quarter descent realy) thing I did with it : )
A friend of mine suggested I tried to keep a bit more of the Komodo dragon in the drawing (ie: I should try and keep the nose, legs and tail reptilly). I think its a great idea, cause at the moment it looks more like a mutant Aye Aye then a Komodo/Aye Aye.
There is some crazy and amazing stuff going on in here. well done to everyone. i'm going to have to get involved and try one of these, but in the meantime, has anyone ever read the book of revelation in the bible? there's a swarm of crazy locust creatures in there that i really wanna see, so if anyone feels up to it...
REVELATION 9:7-10
The appearance of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle; and on their heads appeared to be crowns like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men. They had hair like the hair of women, and their teeth were like [the teeth] of lions. They had breastplates like breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots, of many horses rushing to battle. They have tails like scorpions, and stings; and in their tails is their power to hurt men for five months.
good luck to anyone who wants to attempt that, despite the book being thousands of years old, i think you will actually be the first to draw this. cant find one anywhere. i'll be making an attempt myself too.
Huh? Locusts swarm all the time.... They're not extinct/mythical creatures or anything. I'm sure some have drawn a swarm of locust. Just not from live refs, I hope. That would be painful.
While we're on this topic, anyone wanna attempt a locust/ant eater?
bread of wonder on
Long distance runner, what you standin' there for?

My sister drew one of those when she was in highschool. Totally forgot about them since I haven't read that part of the Bible in years. Perhaps you should try drawing it. Generally, nobody does work on a newb's request unless they've put some skin in the game already.

Not real locusts, the bible locusts are creepy giant hybrid monsters. Read the passage again:
"and on their heads appeared to be crowns like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men. They had hair like the hair of women, and their teeth were like [the teeth] of lions"
There was a good rendition of them in this one e-cartoon, Apocamon:
here's a giralephant that i drew a few days ago in my haphazardly scanned sketchbook (spoilered because i'm too lazy to crop):
i think i'll try that cheetah squid next
EDIT: looking back, this picture seems pretty uncreative since i just slapped an elephant's head onto a giraffe's body. i'll keep that in mind for the next pic
Man, how do people draw awesome monsters like that from imagination? Practice? Observation? Secret and morally questionable genetic experiments? I'd be lucky to turn out anything more than a doodle...
my sister's really into animals, so i showed this to her to make sure that the cheetah didn't look like a leopard or something. it creeped the fuck out of her

Hopefully photobucket can take the strain of showing it to more than a couple people, we'll see.
I'd like a pegasus to breed with an electric eel.
