Dalwhinnie, Glenfiddich and Macallen depending on what's in the cupboard at the moment

I've heard good things about Glenfiddich, I might try to pick up a bottle at some point. I actually haven't heard of the others because I am an uncultured swine

Nay, not uncultured! Scotch is really very much a personal choice - for example, Lagavulin and Talisker are way too smoky/peaty for me and Laphroaig reminds me of hospitals and peat bogs. But there are some people who just love them, and they can be appropriately delicious in small quantities.

    Aww shucks! :D

Also, you'll want to try the scotch neat, with water and with a minimal amount of ice as the flavors will definitely change. Eventually you'll discover a preference (I'm a one-cube lady myself).

I would drink whisky out of a can.

I would drink it every damn day.

And if you were in Japan, you could. Like, in the streets, outside the marts, if you wanted to.

Although I don't guess they call them marts in Japan? Where is Houk when you need him to answer a question about Japantimes?
they call them 'conbini', which is just short for convenience store

also, whenever you teach a japanese person that one of 'their' words actually comes from english or whatever other language, it absolutely blows their mind

like most japanese people dont have a friggin clue that 'conbini' is short for anything. hell, the other day a student called me 'fashionable' and i was like 'oh how do you know an english word like that?' and she was like 'what, that's english?!'

    these people, i swear
i looked up how to say whiskey on the rocks because I thought i'd be cool and order that in a bar all classy like

edit: as far as whiskeys go I am completely unable to pick out all these subtle flavors that people like to talk about when they compare them

I just can't distinguish anything they are describing

I live right next to the St. James winery in Missouri.

It's very nice, because the wine is super cheap, and it's all fruity girly wonderful candy wines.

Like arbor mist, except tasty and with alcohol.

This is an awesome thing. I'm more of a Glenmorangie man myself, and that kind of gives me good ideas of others I might like/try.

Also, why is there talk of Canadian whiskey and yet no Irish whiskey? Damn blasphemy. On the cheap Clontarf is quite nice. And some of the older Bushmills are very good as well.

Lagavulin is my favorite Scotch. Love the smokey flavor.

If I'm not in the mood for smoke I go with the Macallen(Glennfidich if that's not available).

I'll have to check out. Dalwhinnie.

Johnny Walker is generally under $30 (I prefer Black.) The Clontarf Irish whiskey I mentioned above is usually $20 or less.

EDIT: Occassionally I'll find Glenmorangie for about $30 at Trader Joe's.

that is a greater than symbol, but usually a bottle of Jameson is less than $30. that's a good basic irish whiskey.

i've actually seen Bulleit Bourbon for like around $32 recently. and that is a pretty great bourbon. (with a really cool bottle:P)

American Honey is too damn sweet for me.

Wild Turkey 101 is more to my liking. But all my friends love American Honey. I'm convinced I'm the only one with any taste in the matter.

    I'm a rum girl.

    My 2 favorite drinks:
    1. Diet Pepsi and Rum
    2. OPC (orange, pineapple, cranberry) with Rum

I used to drink the Captain alot, but I've moved up to Sailor Jerry. Can't go wrong with a lil hula girl on the bottle.

Been trying to make frozen daiquiris lately. Bit more tricky than I thought.

The trick is to pregame and then drink slowly at the bar.

Thats how I used to get good and drunk and spend no more than ten or fifteen dollars at the bar.

If I was spending more than twenty I was getting absolutely sloshed.
