I don't think anyone that says "superman's boring because he's indestructible" has ever read a Superman story

There should be a requirement that you must read Birthright before calling Superman boring.

The original Robin costume is an homage to the Flying Graysons, Dick wore it to honor his parents. The other Robins kept the same scheme to honor the tradation he established.

I fail to see how that makes the costume and character less lame.

You know he dosen't wear the short shorts and slippers anymore right? That was silver age.
    4982_400x600.jpg

The current Robin is a huge badass. The whole reason he became Robin is because he figured out Batman was Bruce Wayne. That pretty much puts him on a level with Ras al fucking Ghul and no one else I can think of.

Sometimes his new costume looks great and sometimes it looks weird

    I don't know why

I really liked the whole story of the Robin mantle and I think they cheapened it by resurrecting Jason Todd.

The new red/black suit is the business, however.

I don't dislike him or anything, but Superman doesn't interest me whatsoever. I think more interesting superheroes have come around with more interesting powers and weaknesses. While I'm sure he's not as one-dimensional as I remember him being, I don't really feel the urge to find out how he's changed.

I was never into the Fantastic Four. In fact I would say out of all popular Marvel characters I don't like them the most. Just never really appealed to me.

On a semi-related note, who are some villains that have messed up Superman badly in the past? I haven't read many Superman stories so I don't know much, but going from what I have read, I know Doomsday is the obvious answer. And I believe Gog was supposed to have killed Superman too. The thing is, my favorite Supes villain: Darkseid, has always seemed to come up short in his fights with heroes. Is it true that Batman beat him??

You shouldn't have to create a villain specifically to kill your hero. When it's a nobody, and especially when it's a brainless nobody, so much of the potential is wasted. I'd rather see Lex Luthor triumphant than the Bony Banner Doppelganger tied to a meteor, because I guess you can't have the guy who killed Superman through brute force hanging around.

I can't really stand Hank Pym the more I think about it. I understand that he hit his wife at the absolute lowest moment in his life, but the Ultimates brings something deplorable to light in a horrible way. Ultimate Hank Pym made me realize just how much I dislike his character. Sleeping with Valkyrie sort of cemented it too.

I don't hate Superman, but I do generally find that he is less interesting to me than other, equally popular characters. That doesn't mean that I think Supes sucks, it's just that I find most of the other popular characters to be more interesting.

Although, now that I'm thinking about it more, I would choose Wonder Woman instead of Superman. I'm just completely not interested in Wonder Woman. Again, I don't hate her or think she's a stupid character. But she doesn't interest me (beyond an eye candy thing, anyway).

Spider-Man: Hey Spider-Man? Penance and Spawn just called, they would like some of their emo back please. I would think after all the time he's been around, he would of out-grown his romp with emoism... either that of shot himself by now.

Superman: Ohhhhh boy... let's fly around, invincible and just. It's possible I could have an interesting story one of these decades, but until then, I'm just going to beat my opponents by vanilla-ing them to death or poor writing.

Wolverine: When I started to read comics, I actually started around the time the adamantium was taken from his skeleton. I would of thought the writers might of liked the new-found weakness and give the character a little more meat to his overall stories... of course, this was the 90s and... well, that was a general fuck-up of an era anyway.

Deadpool: Yes, he's supposed to be a comedic character... but it's been a little annoying for some time now.

Nothing original... but then again, they are legitimate reasons.
