Chat, if you're the kind of person who finds it tough to say no when friends need a favor, don't own a pickup truck.

That is my advice of the day.

I've decided that it's time to buy a motorcycle.

Problem is, I can't afford a motorcycle right now. :P But I absolutely can for next season, so here goes a year of paying off as much debt as possible and saving what I can!

Doing some research. What I really want is a Honda ST1300, but $20K is way too much, especially for a first bike, so I'm thinking a used Suzuki V-Strom (Either 650 or 1L), or a used SV650. The V-Strom really appeals to me, especially the touring version with the hard saddlebags.

    Suzuki%20V-Strom%20650%20SEA%20ABS%20Touring%20%202.jpg

    Want!

I'd rebut that by saying that if you drive a pickup truck and have friends, you're sort of signing an unwritten social contract that you will help friends move shit. Someone will get all uppity about this and say how wrong I am and that it's nobody's job to feel obligated to help anyone do anything, but fortunately for me we live in the real world where what people expect is a far cry from what is correct.

Exactly. When you get a new game and end up dying in the first level, you don't get depressed for 8 months. You just try again. There's not some big database somewhere that every girl checks, "Oh, Sarksus didn't pull the chair out on the second date, no WAY I'd date that guy!"

Yeah, that's a given. I have a lot of friends who ride, a couple who race, so I am constantly exposed to that world. Hell, my dad has owned a Goldwing since I was born. The Goldwing changes every few years, but yeah. (The Aspencade he got a couple seasons ago is probably his last one, though)

Took me a while to figure that one out.

Ah lucky. I basically know no one who rides motorcycles so one day when I do get one I'm going to find the junkiest thing I can because god I am going to accidentally ruin that thing for sure.

I helped the majority of my friends from high school move when they went to college, because I have an SUV. I don't keep in touch with any of them any more. The one friend I've known the longest and am still friends with, who I helped move, has also helped me move. That's kind of the metric really, if they help you move too, they're actually your friend.

Every time I've watched porn with someone the situation escalated into lusty fondling and kissing like 5 minutes later.

So I highly recommend watching porn with girls.

Yeah, when I sold my SUV for something fast with double the gas mileage, it only stung a tiny bit losing the cargo capacity.
