    I agree with Keith.

A Frog's Eye View was probably one of the most heart breaking stories I have ever read in a comic and Jack of Fables has been excellent so far every issue.

and nope. I'm not really that interested in it. I mean, I do want to read it, but if I get Absolute Sandman volume 1 then I'm going to want the rest of the Absolutes and then I'd have to wait to read stuff

I really don't see the point in buying the Absolutes at all, but I especially don't understand Sandman. It's going to be, what, four books? That's $400, assuming they're all the same price as the first (which I realize they may not be). By contrast, you could buy the trade paperbacks new for less than $200 total (I'm assuming Endless Nights isn't going to be included in the Absolute editions, otherwise it's a little more than $200).

...of course, that makes the price difference only about 100%, which is admittedly rather less than the difference between the TPB and Absolute editions of DKR or Watchmen. But in terms of pure dollars,

Wow, the best writer category is fucking difficult. Bru, Morrison, and Willingham? Jeez that's a rough fucking choice, but in the current examples and works given after the name totally hand this to Willingham. Is it seriously possible to not vote for someone when their given examples are Fables, Jack of Fables, and Fables: 1001 Nights of Snowfall?

    also,

    Best Continuing Series
Young Avengers, by Allan Heinberg, Jim Cheung, and various inkers (Marvel) ?

Hasn't that been on hiatus for almost a year? It was good and all, but should it really be considered at all for best continuing?

I got it for like $45, so yeah, not so bad.

In general I like Marvel's oversized HCs better because they just offer a better value. I mean the Absolutes are nice, but they're impossible to store and awkward to read. The Marvel books are more manageable.

Well, yeah, and it probably will win. But without McNiven and Vines (and Hollowell), I don't think Civil War would have really been worth picking up outside of its status as an event. There's a reason they delayed it so that McNiven could finish.
