hunters also get a kind of group exp that can be spent on acquiring tactics (like maintaining a fire on a vampire, defanging a vampire, herding monsters into a bottleneck, etc)
Oh yeah, it could definitely be a demon. That hadn't crossed my mind. Could also be a troll.
Also, looks like this 'Project Ferryman' is some kind of techno-magic stuff intercepting souls and creating new bodies for them for the souls to inhabit. Completion of the physical form may be symbolic of how much of the soul is contained in it, ergo the whole "half-baked screaming until I die" thing, even for those with not immediately fatal wounds.
