1 c. whole wheat pastry flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. butter
1/2 c. honey
4 tbsp. carob powder
2 tbsp. cocoa powder
1 egg, well beaten
Melt butter in small saucepan over low heat. Add honey, sift in carob and cocoa powders. Using a wire whisk, blend together, then blend in the vanilla and egg. Sift together the flour and baking powder into the saucepan.
Mix all together (you may add 1-2 teaspoons milk if it seems too thick). Pour into a greased 8 inch square pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
* 3 cups rolled oats
* 1 cup slivered almonds
* 1 cup cashews
* 3/4 cup shredded sweet coconut
* 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
* 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons maple syrup
* 1/4 cup vegetable oil
* 3/4 teaspoon salt
* 1 cup raisins
Directions
Preheat oven to 250 degrees F.
In a large bowl, combine the oats, nuts, coconut, and brown sugar.
In a separate bowl, combine maple syrup, oil, and salt. Combine both mixtures and pour onto 2 sheet pans. Cook for 1 hour and 15 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to achieve an even color.
Remove from oven and transfer into a large bowl. Add raisins and mix until evenly distributed.

First time I got drunk:

I can't imagine not having Sailor Jerry. But I also can't imagine not being able to buy liquor at every gas station, convenient store, and grocery store at any hour of the night.

Oh don't exaggerate! We are not allowed to buy liquor in Cali between the hours of 2 a.m.–6 a.m. This has been a pain for me many times haha.

I think that's just a local ordinance, not a state thing. I've made the 3am liquor run a time or two.

Lucky Californians. Not having to buy liquor before 9pm and only at specialized stores.
Don't forget, closed on Sunday.
How in the hell do you do football season for when you run out of beer between games?
We buy in BULK. I had a picture on my phone once of the back of my Ford Escape, rear seats folded down flat. We had something like 2 kegs, 16 cases of beer, and about 10 bottles of liquor. Cost a pretty penny that did. Fun night though.

No Sunday liquor stores here, but you can still pick up a pack of beer at the grocery store. I haven't run into any grocery stores that also sell liquor. Not sure if that is by law or what.
I knew someone who drove up to Kentucky one night because of this law. Hours later he discovered that they had that law as well.

the first and only time I puked was the next weekend, where I had about a dozen beer and waaay too much tequila

I mean I rarely, rarely puke
I can count on one hands how many times I have due to liquor

It is Wikipedia so it could be wrong. I have never been to a place in Cali where I could buy Liquor after 2. That sounds amazing.

It is also possible that liquor store owners near a college just didn't give a fuck and were willing to risk a fine to sell hooch to drunkards.

State law.
Wikipedia has a list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_alcohol_laws_of_the_United_States_by_state
Though I could've sworn Massachusetts didn't allow grocery store beer sales, but maybe that's only Boston? Of course, that was also 4 years ago.
it's
awesome
Being from the south I really appreciate the lack of blue laws more.
Georgia still has a state-wide ban on Sunday alcohol sales (outside of bars and restaurants).
