I think the last disney original I watched was You Wish! where the guy wishes his little brother away with a magic coin
it was that little fat kid that was in a bunch of movies at the time and I was glad he got wished away
alright he was just in The Ultimate Chirstmas Present that I saw but he was still annoying
tTeefs: people who don't know their son bought a mansion in the same neighborhood as their house
I am writing this in the wake of the announcement -- entirely expected -- that US government funding for Nasa's human space flight initiatives has been cancelled, and any American progress in that area will now be turned over to private enterprise. And if you think that this is a good idea, just ask yourself how reliable your local rail service has been since deregulation.
This is actually a pretty terrible example. Rail was initially not strongly regulated, and shortly after price controls and state-sponsored monopolies were introduced in the late 19th century/early 20th century, the quality of rail degraded rapidly and it lost ground to automobiles. And, as rail floundered due to stagnancy (largely encouraged by shoddy and overbearing regulation that didn't actually make consumers better off), government had to step in and subsidize it. This is why we have Amtrak, which, uh, is a government-owned corporation and mostly sucks balls. Now, there's plenty of good government-run rail in the world, but America doesn't have it.
I mean, I think we all know I'm a big fan of big government, but that's one of the worst possible examples this dude could have used.
People were saying the budget was being cut because it was not going to go up as much as it usually did. So basically they were being dicks and liars.
No that's just the nature of government and how "spending cuts" work. Congress very rarely actually "cuts" anything they typically just cut a program's projected growth.
Well if the projected growth falls below inflation then it is, in real terms, a cut. Also, jobs are allocated based on projections, so, for the people losing jobs it is a cut.
Listen, you can't avoid structural employment entirely -- fair enough. However, telling people to sack up and go get a job in some other state doesn't make them feel any less screwed. I think Obama's actually doing a decent job here of trying to minimize the effects of structural unemployment.
Actually, SU is a good example in general of how much suffering is ignored by the high-gloss, high-altitude, low-resolution viewpoint of monetarist and supply-side economists. Structural unemployment is part of any economy, tariffs and protectionism are bad. Fair point, but that doesn't change the fact that the Rust Belt has been completely devastated and the people there have been shafted. Protectionism and price controls are almost never the answer, but just pretending structural unemployment isn't a problem is willful ignorance.

I remember these!
Well, some of them.
I had such a crush on Katherine Heigl from this movie when I was younger.
the perfect ending would have been both of them having sex with everyone because they were not in their bodies so who cares
I think it ended in a dance...then they sat under the stars and wished each other back
stupid
So uh...
