It's not hearsay or loose evidence when it comes from Ed Brubaker. And it's not like it was in one interview, it's the same thing he's said at CBR, Newsarama, and even verified when the interviewer brings up Zemo's last known motivations after Born Better. and mentioning at convention panels by himself and others in Marvel.
But this has gone beyond the solicits, I'll move it to the bitching thread.
I don't want to be involved in this because I have no dog in this fight over what Zemo should be. Could the realization Bucky is alive and the new Cap break his mind? Sure. Why not? I'm just disappointed in Bru (looking back on his DD run, it's pretty atrocious) the more I think about his work and his recent work. With Cap, every time I've hoped for something crazy different, he goes for safe and boring and something I couldn't care less about. Everyone knew that was Grand Director coming back, but no, God forbid... This is for the bitching thread. Point is, I am betting that end will be dad coming back and oh my God why?
Anyway, back to the solicits. I know it's lecherous, but I wonder if Kelly Sue presumably writing the Carter/Hand/Hill story will be allowed to be a bit cheesecakey like that Mighty Avengers annual with Carol, Janet and Natalia. I also am interested in the Blue Marvel story just because everything about his past is so ridiculous if he comes back because a black man is President or some nonsense I am going to laugh so hard I'll cry.
There are some interesting looking books solicited. But at this point, I'm not entirely sure what I'd want to buy. Deadpool's in my MA Super Heroes, which ... eh; Moon Knight looks cool and I'll probably stick with that book for the long haul; the new all-ages Thor book looks fun and I want that. Convince me of something I should order/buy.
Wait, wait, when did Zemo return from being stranded in the past? Note: the last thing I read about him was Zemo: Born Better, which came out after CW.
Didn't he come back from the past at the end of that mini?
Also, if Brubaker has to have Bucky fight Zemo, I'd rather he come up with some contrivance that allows Bucky to fight the original Zemo. As things are, it sounds like Brubaker is going to be drawing upon that history to explain a conflict between two people who've never met and have no reason to care about each other. It'd be much better if he just, you know, revived the original conflict instead.

He hasn't been around since Born Better, but as the ending for that showed, he basically said "fuck it" to the Zemo legacy, decided it a better legacy would start with him, and he would help the world his way.
Brubaker is going to bring Zemo back next month in Captain America to where he, from all the interviews he has done, is basically making Zemo a generic nazi Cap villain again because he hasn't been a Cap villain in some time (which is also ignoring what happened in Civil War). Apparently Helmut Zemo has a hard on for wanting to kill Bucky because his father (who he doesn't care about) killed him but now he's back to life and is Cap.

What's really weird is how Brubaker acts like killing Bucky must have been a point of pride for the original Zemo and his descendants, and not just a consolation prize for failing to kill Captain America. Can you really see people bragging about killing Captain America's boy sidekick? If any shame came from the botched murder attempt, it was from the fact that Cap turned up alive, not Bucky.
There appears to be nothing coming out for hulk (other then hulked out heroes:(). I'm really not sure how to interpret this, since I really liked some parts of the hulk corner of the comics, but given the shit factor of FotHs and the slobbering bj loeb gives red hulk I can understand the decision.
I Hope that Savage she hulk (who is an interesting character and does an intertesting spin on the gamma empowerment), Rick jones (stupid name aside, he's got a wonderful rookie feel even if he is one of the oldest characters in the marvel U) and skaar (The character is extremely unpredictable and not because he's "crazy" or random) retain a presence in the setting.
I adored pak's work on the hulk during PH and WWH. His run with hulk 601+ has presented interesting perspectives with both Skaar and banner. But You gotta admit: he's been kinda shoved aside by loeb in regards to story direction for the hulk corner of marvel comics.

At least this artist is presenting characters as porn stars out of perversion, not laziness.
And I actually liked the idea of the newer, gayer Rawhide Kid, but only until I read that initial miniseries and saw it was terrible. I'm sure this belated and unwanted sequel won't be any better.
I was going to say Spinnerette, but then I realized that there's no character with that name. I think someone here just said it would be a good name for a Spider-Woman type character at some point.
Anyway, she looks like the new Lolita Kraven, but with spider-powers.

God damn it, Zemo was pretty awesome (at least in my eyes) at the end of Born Better. We need to go steal Nicieza from DC so he can set Brubaker straight about what Zemo is about.
I think both those titles have been put on hold for the Thanos thing but I doubt they'll come back due to sales. Proof once again that we can't have nice things.
The cosmic titles have been skirting the edge for a while now. What's annoying is that if Bendis or Millar or Loeb were given just one of the titles, it'd be selling 50k every month. DnA's work on the cosmic side of Marvel has been woefully unappreciated by comic buyers.
I hope having them Secret Avengers in Moon Knight gives it a sales bump - aside from the Deadpool issue, that has been a great book so far. I'm really looking forward to seeing how Cap and Moon Knight react to each other after their last meeting.
Not terrible, could be better, I'm guessing they'll be back once the crossover is finished. Maybe it'll be in a slightly different form, but they'll be back - those books fill a niche in the MU.
I'm with kyle, they'll be back just not necessarily in the same format. I think the idea is that the Thanos Imperative gets people into/back into the cosmic scene and is easy to collect, with everything happening in a single book, so people can just pick that up and know what is happening without having to get three/four books (Realm of Kings had that problem).
Anyone wanna take a guess at who the girl(?) on the Avengers #3 cover is?
I thought it said in the description:
The time space continuum is broken! And the Avengers must travel to the far flung future to see exactly what terrible mess their children have made of the world. But maybe, just maybe, Kang didn't tell our heroes the truth about what has gone wrong. Guest starring the Next Avengers, the Future Imperfect Hulk and the Amazing Spider-Girl!
A future Spider-Girl ? That was my assumption, dystopian future spider-girl.

Sometimes, as they say, less is more.
I'm guessing that's one of the reasons Nova is on Brubaker's Avengers book - up his profile, maybe get some folks that wouldn't necessarily give GotG/Nova a try to check it out, and lay the foundation for the inevitable Cosmic Avengers versus Chuthulu Universe crossover.

I think that was Servo. There's actually a new webcomic about a spider-themed superheroine named Spinnerette. It's kind of cute. Sort of reminds me of Empowered, without all the sex.

DEATH OF DRACULA #1
Written by VICTOR GISCHLER
Penciled by GIUSEPPE CAMUNCOLI
Cover by GIUSEPPE CAMUNCOLI & MARKO DJURDJERVIC
He is the legendary Lord of the Vampires. Dracula. Who would dare attempt to overthrow him? Only Dracula's son Xarus, a ruthless and clever upstart with the bold ambition to unite all the world’s vampire sects under one flag. But Xarus's older brother Janus isn't sure he likes the idea of a new regime and seeks allies to oppose Xarus. The ultimate battle to control Earth's Creatures of the Night unfolds, with the future of the vampire race – and possibly the Marvel Universe – at stake.

Gah! Marvel, why would you put 2 of my favorite artists on something which is clearly going to be terrible?

buying it anyway...
I'm hoping the series is setup for more vampire shenanigans later this year or next year.
i do like the fact marvel have never bothered to modernise dracula, so he's still rocking his 70's horror comics look.
that and he's always just alive again with no real explanation as to how whenever they need him in as a villain, no matter how finally dead he appeared to be in the last story. best hammer horror traditions right there...

Probably. The comic has been pretty fucking terrible since loeb became the dominant writer though.

I thought they were doing fine.
Marvel keeps trying to make me break my "no singles" policy. That Atlas cover is damn close to making it happen.
