i may pick up REBELS #16 for the Green Lantern connection. Bedard even talked it up a bit as tying into his GLC run in an interview.
Really, anyone who's a fan of Green Lantern or the Annihilation books will probably like REBELS. It's great cosmic adventure, and completely turned my opinion around on Tony Bedard.
It's like my childhood died a little bit... but in a good way.
I may just be a dunce, but it took me until the last page for me to realize what was going on, and the reveal just floored me. And I love C.R.'s sad confession on the penultimate page. Something about the line, "I was a much better boy than I am a man," hits me just right.
sadly, I still do. They occasionally work a few good arcs and story-lines in between Peter Parker's social woes. The newest Rhino arc being among them.

If you can't beat them, arrange to have them beaten in your presence.
What, no-one is picking the simple fact Captain Universe is in ASM as their MOTW?
It's Captain Freakin' Universe! You know, the hero any one of us could be!
I miss the Eighties so much.
Remember when Marvel ran ads to make a custom Captain Universe for anybody that sent them money? And then they stole all those peoples money, and never delivered the custom comic books? I was one of those people.

Uh, I still have my custom comic book
I went to New York, became Captain Universe and hung out with the X-Men
My grandparents bought it for me because "Hey, he likes comic books" and they got a letter saying it was canceled, but were never able to get the company to refund it.

Well, it's just as well because how could your grandparents know the name of that special someone you needed to call from New York to let them know you made it alright but can't because the Captain Universe costume has no pockets!
This was my favorite plot point. "Finally, a phonebooth!" *crushed by giant monster*
Well that sounds awesome. You're opening up some old wounds here, Ringo

Were these comics a part of Marvel though?
Send Tom Brevoort an e-mail saying " 'sup?," since he was around when that was happening. Although he may just say you are the reason you never got the book in the first place, because Marvel never does anything wrong.
Been picking it up every issue since New Ways To Die. And out of the 60 issues between then and now, I think there's been less than ten that I didn't enjoy.

did you really not get that
when they said "I'm not going through a hundred acres of woods for him" I thought "haha, a winnie the pooh reference". then they called the dude C.R. then there were kangaroos.
the bear said "oh bother"
you obviously weren't trained by the world's greatest detective
Honestly, I am really not familiar with the stories... just what you glean from the ubiquitous Disney version being part of pop culture.
I feel silly now, but there's no way I would have worked it out... I didn't even get close.

I figured it out when the tiger showed up.
When the pig came out, I was thinking 'a little weird, but you sometimes get pigs in forests.'
Then the kangaroos in the background and I was all 'are those fucking kangaroos? I don't even...'
Then came the tiger. TTFN, punks!
Pretty much everything up until Gauntlet has been great but this current arc is just not doin' it for me. There's a couple good issues here or there (mainly involving the Rhino) but overall I just want them to move past this stuff as quickly as possible. I'm in need of a new arc and coherent writing/not old art style.
The fact that he even bothered to show up is a miracle. You know on the way there he was probably all, "Oh, he's probably already dead.. Why bother..? My ankles hurt.."
I've only picked up the last two issues after walking away after the Osborn torture porn issue. (The one where Osborn and Bullseye basically just rip and stab Spider-Man, and Spider-Man bites Osborn in the face.) Seemed like a good point to leave.
I've enjoyed the majority of the BND Spider-Man. Some clunkers in there, but the majority of the stories have been well done (and the art has been top notch on almost every issue). The Rhino storyline was great, and I'm digging the current Roger Stern Juggernaut issues.
Most of it has been acceptable, but I really don't care about the new setting. The incidental characters are so friggin annoying. Also the overall "gauntlet" thing being done from the start as a Big Event is kind of annoying.

I enjoyed this quite a lot
Thanks Munch!
Always happy to spread good comics around Ringo.
