To be honest, I never liked ceremonies.
I am perfectly content knowing I have accomplished what I set out to do. I don't really want to stand around in a silly robe and hat just so people can photograph me in said silly robe and hat.
I only really do it anyway because other people want to attend the ceremony and feel all proud about it, and I'd feel kind of assholish for taking that away from them.
i haven't even resumed school yet and it's already fucking with my head. i once spent an entire semester mildly convinced that there was a class i signed up for that i couldn't remember anything about and never went to.
Anyone know someone who goes to Trinity College in Connecticut?
I dont go there, but I live 50 minutes from hartford and can say, driving around the part of town it's in, that trinity is in the middle of ghetto central.
My department head is the oddest old man. I went in to get my major changed from being through the business school to the government department and I'm talking to him about how they had originally had me as an Info Systems student for no real reason and he goes into this Batman-esque rant about other departments stealing his students and no justice for it while I just smile and nod.

I rushed out and bought a book about the British empiricists, an introductory guide to Chomsky's work on generative linguistics (written by my supervisor!!!) and Russell's 'human society in ethics and politics'
