My roommate and I are looking to start a campaign
In Real Life. We both work in
New York City, and are looking for players. Still reading? Specifics to follow:
The setting:It was no mere war between mortals has caused the collapse of civilization. It was a war between GODS. While the standard pantheon from the PHB still exists, that is not the complete list. Others used to exist... and were slain during the war that shook the planes, and raged across this physical world. Blasted wastelands stretch as far as the eye can see, and god-spawned monstrosities prey on travelers between the few bastions of civilization. In this world, a religion isn't a box to fill on your character sheet, or a way to get some good Channel Divinity feats. The deity you follow changes the way people will see you, and how they will treat you. Entire towns are ruled by the religious orders that hold sway there. The breakdown of civilization has caused innumerable sects and schisms among the once-powerful churches.
Who will look after your soul in the afterlife? And will your choice send you there sooner?
The game mechanic specifics!
- Characters will start at level 2. Presumably they will progress in levels.
- To start, buy level 1 equipment as normal, then add 1 magic item up to 3rd level. Mix thoroughly.
- All races and classes from published sources are okay. Any Dragon content is usually ok, but run it by the DM first.
- All characters must provide a background for themselves in the Ten-Minute Background format. If you're not familiar with that format,
look at this. If you wish to go above and beyond, by all means.
- Characters should be posted on
Orokos or emailed to the DM to review, to make sure you lot aren't cheating.
The meatspace specifics!
- We will meet first at
Compleat Strategist. If we find or you know of friendlier confines, we're amenable to moving elsewhere.
- The game will run monthly, on the weekend. If things go well and schedules work out, we can look into meeting more often.
- We will not be using Maptools as a fall-back option. We both play in too many online games, and want to get some quality face time.
So, if you're interested, post in the thread! Any questions? Post 'em!
