Do I really need to tell you just how badly I want one of them Boomers, Beavs? I'm almost entirely certain that it could go without actually saying it.
I'm also eager to see the as yet unrevealed Witch, Hunter, Smoker, and Tank!
beavs i can't imagine how awesome it must be to see your version of a character 3D-ified by other people and then see it as a physical object (an amazing one at that)
i'm sure you're already super gleeful about it
but regardless I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU and you should be even more proud than you already are!

If he'd given Beavs a shout out and credit for the idea it would've been cool, but he didn't, and that makes him a jerk.
and there's no way in hell he came up with that on his own, there's beavo style decisions all over that thing.
Aw man, that's awesome Beavo. You made toys!
And I thought I was being weird by buying my kids Uglydolls. Can't wait to see their faces when they unwrap this.
Beavs... as usual, most everything here is totes awesome. I will say... the only thing I thought about the design that I didn't see in my quick read of the thread was that the sunflower seed was a touch or two too large. I think the rest looks quite good, and like having the sunflower to give context to the sunflower seeds--I think they're simple enough pieces to identify with but are not abstract enough to not realise wha they are... I just think they may be too large. Have you played around with shrinking them?
Is this character something you're looking to turn into a comic/children's book at some point, or just a dude you like to draw occasionally? It feels like there's a story in there that needs telling.
(Google reveals there's already an "owl boy" video game and an "owl boy" book, but neither are this cute looking.)
Actually seriously, I'm trying to get some cohesive work in my portfolio for doing children's book illustration
so I'm writing a little story about this guy
and I'm either going to illustrate it as a book or a small comic
right now I'm leaning towards comic, thoughts?
I'm just playing around with styles to find ones I like, I really like this one, just need to play with it a bit more I think, become comfortable with it i guess
no vectors, I feel so empty without vectors hahaha
Well, if you want to do children's book illustration, it makes more sense to do it up as a children's book.
Though I'd personally prefer to see a comic, for the purely selfish reason that to check it out I don't want to have to cross over the threshold into the dreaded Children's Book Section of my local bookstore, with its different carpet and small, easily trampled children and its bookcircle readings and whatever other craziness is in there.
well see the thing is, children's book publishers don't care what format you use so long as you are able to represent the same characters in different scenarios with good consistency
so it doesn't really matter if i do comic or book, and i personally would prefer to try a comic
so... i guess i'm going to try making a short comic!
I think that you could have done a little more with the background though. It looks like you really tried not to make it too busy, but I think the central color is more than sufficient to pull the eye.
hey duders
i'm currently going into the fourth and final week at illustration academy and i've learned some things about making better pictures
here's a drawing i did for the third assignment, called "a conversation"

I think at this point, lots of people know I came up with this idea, if other people wanna try their hand at it, i'm all for that.
Well they do say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Also, thanks Tam.
EDIT: Come to think of it, I should give it a shot some time. Seems like it'd be fun.

Still, very nice Beavo! The Autumn colors bring warmth to my heart.

Is the tree to left supposed to look flat? It looks flat to me.
I'm trying not to resort to Bill Waterson comparisons, but that truely is the best way I could describe this!
Awesome work as per usual.
