I'd venture to say you could have a different sea food dish every day for one year's time and still not have something that even came from the gulf though
Ugh, never again. I like seafood but oysters and clams are a no-go for me.
Back in highschool, my defacto girlfriend and I went on a double date with her sister and her boyfriend. We ate at a Chinese restaurant (an actual restaurant, like nice authentic food) (and this is funny considering the three of them are Chinese), and that was where I first tried oysters and clams. The texture is just so fucking wrong and it ruined my appetite for the evening.
I watched this show a couple weeks ago about different kinds of swarms
in some african village they take a pot, make it a little wet, and swing it into swarms of tiny tiny flies. then they mush em' all together and make bug burgers
so instead of being like FUCK I HATE THESE FLIES they are like, FUUUCKCKKKK YESSS BURGERS!
I used to be a baby about just about everything until I was 18 or so, seeing as how I grew up pseudo-poor. Not destitute...but lets just say there was a lot of tuna with mac and cheese and hamburger helper. Anymore, there really isn't anything I won't try and enjoy. You just have to have the mentality that this shit like oysters and other more exotic foods are damn popular for a reason. Usually when I try a food for the first time, I try and consume it as if it were one of my favorite delicacies, knowing full well that it is indeed a favorite delicacy for many people out there. It helps getting over that initial 'weirdness'
Food is honestly my favorite thing about traveling. Any time I go to a nice new restaurant, I'm always keeping an eye out for the most exotic dishes on the menu.

I honestly can't comprehend people who eat good food and it makes them "gag"
like, actually want to vomit
I'm just "it's not the flavour and it's not that it's from a part of the animal that you do not eat, it's that you are psyching yourself out by convincing yourself it's gross even before you've tried it"
and people like that piss me off
it is probably one of the main reasons I broke things off with my ex

So if you're from somewhere else you might be ok. Unless there is some kind of transference of prices through the economy
right. now.

You take that back!
I bet I could eat almost all of that

You'd be surprised how much of that shit has worms in it
If you cook it its all good though.
What in the hell is wrong with you, boy?
Really if you think about shrimps, crabs and lobsters are pretty much under-sea insects.
Delicious underwater insects.
like a sea scorpion, if you will
The legs and oysters? No sweat. You can eat a billion of those if you're hungry.
All that shrimp would be a bit filling, though.

The last time it was baked beans with fried eggs...this is a bit more tricky.

those are mussels
I'm 100% serious. I think that shit would be tasty. I think in... Thailand (?) its actually common.
Actually crustaceans evolved first, so think of insects as land crabs
also shmoozing
Insects would probably not have much in the way of taste, though (properly prepared and whatnot) they would be healthier than other meat
Cheaper and less wasteful to raise as well
so they are
so they are

I have baked beans, eggs, some ground beef, bread and pepper jack cheese.
Though, I bet I could make something somewhat awesome with these things.

This was 8 years ago, I don't remember. I'll give the benefit of the doubt about it, but honestly I'm just not interested in trying.
Their mother was awesome. She was born and raised in the motherland and brought that cooking with her.

I've had crayfish (technically spiny lobster, apparently) and didn't really like it as anything other than a butter transport tool
