and I cannot figure out what the fuck, so I call upon the experience of H/A for this pretty simple question related to video games.
I used to love Harvest Moon for the SNES. and then also for n64.
Now I want to play it again, but my SNES is borked. I have an n64, a DS, a Gamecube, and a Wii.
Which is the most recent, most awesome version of Harvest Moon that is like the SNES one (farm, raise animals, make fat monies, get a girl and make a babby, etc?) and not like, I don't know, a puzzle or adventure game or whatever all these new ones are?
I'd prefer to play on my DS, so if the answer to my first question about isn't a DS game, what would the answer be if I were limited to only my DS (or would there not be an answer?)

See, I am so glad I asked before I started buying things
I mainly use the game to play Poker in the Harvest Sprite Casino if I'm having to wait around for an appointment or something. Occasionally, I'll play Blackjack.
By the way, the money glitch.
This is the last version of the game that I played that I enjoyed.
Just looked on GameFAQs and apparently there is Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness, Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands (I think its the same game with new features from the reviews), and Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming. There is also another one coming out in a couple of months called Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar. The first 3 all came out last year.
I think it's from the same people that made Harvest Moon. It's basically that plus magic and monsters.
So you farm potatoes and kill orcs or something. I have Rune Factory 2 and it's not so bad, well the women you marry look like little girls so there's that, I'm only mentioning it because it's similar and you may run across it at one point. In RF2 after marrying and having a kid you then play as that kid and you can marry again but you don't play as your grandkid.
You uh have to capture a "cow monster" though if you want milk and stuff, it's not like you just run into town and ask for a calf.
Harvest Moon for the game boy advanced however is quite decent and I recommend it as well. The sheep are so cute.
I think he was talking about not wanting Rune Factory but a traditional version.
It's pretty enjoyable. One of the more solid HM games I've played, though it can get tedious later if you're trying to win the approval of the entire town.
e: Otherwise I found it every bit as enjoyable as HM64 or HM Back to Nature.
Lots of crops, holidays, interesting time making friends with the neighbors, there's another farmer in town to compete with, and there's a quest to save the Harvest Goddess.
Plus, like nine people to choose from when it comes to courtin'. And you can pick if you want to be a boy or a girl.
Worlds better than any other HM released on the cube, and one of my favorite entries in the series.
If does have recipes you can use to unlock things, but you certainly don't need to do them if you don't feel like it.
It's far and away my favorite aside from HM64
Also friends of mineral town is kinda expensive!
